What are the chances of a Detective Forst Season 2 coming out after the first season released on January 11, 2024? What will this supposed sequel look to adapt further? So must be some questions arising in the minds of those viewers who’ve just finished watching the latest Polish crime drama series on Netflix. Starring Borys Szyc, Zuzanna Saporznikow, Andrzej Bienias, Kamilla Baar, Maciej Pesta, Aleksandra Grabowska, Szymon Wróblewski and others, the 6-part season 1 has been directed by Leszek Dawid, and is based on the initial few books of the Forst book series penned by Remigiusz Mróz.
The first season revolved around the titular character being faced by a series of grisly murders that seem to be connected somehow. The authorities come to realise that a serial killer may be at work here, but the detective leading the case, Wiktor Forst, is suspended thereafter due to his eccentric and maverick ways of dealing with it that don’t stand by the usual protocols set up by the force. Ultimately, he joins forces with a nosy journalist, Olga Szrebska, to solve the case at hand that also ends up digging graves of his traumatic past and childhood.

Has Detective Forst Season 2 Been Confirmed?
At the time of the first season’s premiere, no talks of a potential sequel being green-lit have surfaced. It’s quite likely that the future instalments’ adaptation will depend on the grandeur of viewership reeled in by the newly released series on Netflix. In terms of the storyline, there’s still a lot of source material on hand that’s yet to be adapted into live-action episodes. Those who’ve read the book will recognise the first season to have worked out the televised translation for the first two books of the series – Ekspozycja (Exposure) and Przewieszenie (Overhang). In totality, Remigiusz Mróz has produced 6 books of the Forst series, leaving us with 4 more books’ worth of content for future adaptations.
What Will Detective Forst 2 Cover If It’s Green-lit?
As mentioned before, 4 more books are yet to be covered. The next season can easily jump into the third book of the series, Trawers (Traverse) (and beyond that), and resume from where the first season has left the characters off. Detective Forst Season 1 ended with Olga (Zuzanna Saporznikow) supposedly intercepting the scene and rescuing the Beast of Giewont, following his spine-chilling fight scene with Wiktor. Considering how badly hurt the Beast was, one would’ve expected him to die after incurring such a blow to the head, but as was brought to attention, we can see him open his eyes despite the grim fall.

So far Olga had been assisting Forst, and they’d even cultivated a sort of relationship between each other. However, after this move, Olga’s credibility will evidently be under scrutiny, so as to explore why she could’ve rescued the Beast after all that. What ties does she share with him? And with the Beast of Giewont now alive, will he be back soon? Had Olga and Iwo Elijah/Gjord Hansen (Maciej Pesta) been working together since the beginning to lure Forst and deceive him? Only a possible second season can answer these questions.
All 6 episodes of the first season of Detective Forst Polish series are streaming on Netflix.

Did I miss something? Why is is the reporter driving away at the end of episode 6?
That has been left open-ended as of now. We don’t know if she’s taken the Beast hostage, or if she’s always been on his side. It’s a possibility that she’d planned everything against Forst with the Beast long back, but that’s yet to be revealed. It’s all up for speculation right now.
