After Shin-yu (Rowoon) confesses his feelings for Hong-jo (Jo Bo-ah), she is left shocked and doesn’t believe him at the beginning, but he later reveals that he was the one who drank the love potion that she had prepared for Jae-kyung (Ha Jun). He then shows her the CCTV footage, and Hong-jo is left angered about how her spell got cast on the wrong person. Shin-yu begins to curse her to turn back the love spell cast by her, but she doesn’t know how to do so. He reveals how the spell has definitely worked, given how his behaviour towards her changed when they took a trip together, and he also complimented her after seeing her in the white dress.

Hong-jo, after reaching home, is seen reminiscing about her conversation with Jae-kyung, where he asks her why she likes him. After hearing her answer, he tells her that he isn’t the person she thinks he is. At work, under Hong-jo’s love spell, Shin-yu can’t stop thinking about her and also gets jealous at the idea of her and Jae-kyung meeting and also consults a colleague on whether there is a chance that Jae-kyung may end up liking her. He then decides to woo Hong-jo with a sweet gesture and takes coffee and treats for her park maintenance team and also informs her manager Ma Eun-yeong (Lee Bong-ryun), that he is worried about Hong-jo who is being bullied by her team.

Destined With You Episode 4 Review

After the big revelation at the end of the third episode about Shin-yu drinking the love potion, the new one is crucial to showcase the effects of the spell cast by Hong-jo. All through the episode, we see Rowoon flirting with Jo Bo-ah’s character, and these make for the best moments of the episode. It’s a treat to see Rowoon nail the duality of Shin-yu as he goes from hot to cold and bats his eyelids in the cutest manner while confessing his feelings for Hong-jo.

The episode is also crucial in revealing one more clue about the mysterious connection between the two as we see that the person that Shin-yu has been dreaming about is the younger version of Hong-jo. The two have probably met each other in their younger days, and it seems there could have been a strong bond between them since then. Jo Bo-ah continues to make a strong impression in the show with her performance. The scenes where she expresses Hong-jo’s excitement or sadness work well in creating a connection with her character.

Among other things where this episode particularly impresses is also in the technical departments. The cinematography in the last scene at the beach is beautiful, and the background score also remains good all through. The show’s promising storyline, combined with the performances, is keeping us hooked to it.
