Deepika Padukone Departing MAMI as a Chairperson? Get The Deets Here

Deepika Padukone took to her Instagram account to share the news with her audience that she is no longer an acting Chairperson of MAMI (Mumbai Academy of Moving Image).

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone quit MAMI and shared the piece of information via Instagram story. Here’s what she has written in the post.

“Being on the board of MAMI and serving as Chairperson has been a deeply enriching experience. As an artist it was invigorating to bring together cinema and talent from all over the world to Mumbai, my second home.”

She further added, “I have come to realise however, that with my current slate of work, I will be unable to give MAMI the undivided focus and attention it requires.”

“I depart knowing that MAMI is in the best hands possible and that my bond and connection with the academy is one that will last a lifetime,” and concluded saying this.

In 2019, Deepika Padukone earned Kiran Rao’s spot as the Chairperson of MAMI and took the responsibilities as a Chairperson very seriously. After becoming the Chairperson, Deepika revealed, “It’s an absolute honour and a huge responsibility. I believe in MAMI’s vision and we are committed towards creating a community that cinema lovers and creators of a film passionate nation like ours truly deserve.”

Recently Deepika has launched a chocolate spread with ghee ‘Epigamia’ which is trending on social media. The actress will be seen in Kabir Khan’s directorial ’83 with her husband, Ranveer Singh. She will also feature in Shakun Batra’s next venture with Siddharth Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday.

Deepika has been engaging with her fans by posting small 30-second reel videos telling more about herself and sharing little tidbits about her life. Did you know Deepika Padukone is a great DJ but shies away to show her music playlist? Her favourite song? Justin Beiber’s Peaches.

The recent post of her childhood photo with the caption, “Indiranagar ki gundi hoon main,” has gone viral like a wildfire.

She also has a lot of movies in the pipeline including Pathan, an action drama with Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham. As per the media reports, there will be an epic action sequence among the actors which will mesmerise the audience to the highest level. The makers want it to be an outstanding sequence, a visual treat for the audience. Deepika will also be seen with Hrithik Roshan in their film Fighter, and she might even work with pan-Indian actor Prabhas for a film.

A few days ago, Deepika Padukone shared another happy news for her followers that she will feature in The Intern, a Hindi version of the Hollywood movie with Amitabh Bachchan. The Hollywood version starred Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro. This is great news as the Piku co-stars will be featuring once again together onscreen, and the fans cannot keep calm. Did you know Rishi Kapoor was supposed to take up the role? But after his sudden demise last year, Amitabh Bachchan roped it.
