Celebrity Ending Explained: Netflix’s Korean thriller series stars Park Gyu-young as Seo A-ri King, Min-hyuk as Han Jun-kyung, Lee Chung-ah as Yoon Shi-hyeon, Lee Dong-gun as Jin Tae-jeon, and Jun Hoo-seong as Oh Min-hye along with Jay-in, Han Eu-ddeun, Kim Si-hyun, Jung Yoo-Min, Park Ye-ni, and others. Also known as ‘셀러브리티’, it is written by Kim Yi-young, and the Kdrama is directed by Kim Cheol-kyu.

In 12 episodes, Celebrity shows us the dark and scandalous reality of being a social media influencer. There’s a lot of jealousy, politics, and often, situations can go extremely wrong and dark. In the series, Seo A-ri is said to be dead. However, she supposedly returns, and via Instagram Live, she exposes the e-celeb culture. Seo A-ri became Korea’s one of the top influencers. However, to reach the top, she exposed several internet celebrities with secret information from an online stranger with the handle ‘bbbfamous’.
However, when ‘bbbfamous’ doesn’t get attention from A-ri after she becomes widely popular, they seek revenge on her. The stranger leaks fabricated chats where she’s talking ill about other influencers. The negativity makes A-ri suffer a lot. Who Killed Seo A-ri?
When Seo A-ri informs the cops about everything that happens at the club that leads to a man’s death, Jin Tae-jeon decides to seek revenge. He blackmails Oh Min-hye to do a live stream and tell everyone that A-ri is lying about the club incident. Later, the director of A-ri’s company kills himself due to pressure. But Tae-jeon is responsible for the death too. The internet starts hating A-ri for lying to everyone and pushing someone to death due to work overload.
However, Han Jun-kyung and Yoon Shi-hyeon stand by Seo A-ri’s side. Sadly, when Jun-kyung is on his way to give his statement and help A-ri, he meets with a deadly accident. Again, Tae-jeon is behind the same. Seeing Jun-kyung fighting for life and death in the hospital breaks A-ri’s heart. She breaks down in front of Shi-hyeon and also attempts to jump from the hospital terrace. However, Shi-hyeon stops her. But seeing people close to her suffer so much becomes tough to handle. A-ri realises how she became someone (like other e-celebs) she once despised.
A shattered A-ri decides to take her own life. She drives her car into the river and kills herself. So, no one kills A-ri. But her situation drives her to take her own life.

How did Seo A-ri come back to life in Celebrity on Netflix?
Well, all of this was part of the plan and Seo A-ri’s death was staged. A-ri, her friend Jeong-Sun and Shi-hyeon decided to expose the influencers’ club Gabin Society and the wrongdoings of Tae-jeon. While A-ri was hiding, her friend would go live on Instagram using the deep fake app. Through Deep Fake, an individual can use any person’s face and make it look real. Their plan succeeded, and the influencers’ lies were exposed to the world and their family members. Also, Tae-jeon was captured by the cops for his crimes. A-ri and Jun-kyung also reunite.
Who is bbbfamous in Celebrity Kdrama?
Another big mystery of the Netflix series was the ‘bbbfamous’ account. It turns out that it was a woman who used to work at the massage parlour where the Gabin Society girls would regularly go for massages. These massage sessions would usually become gossip and b*tching sessions. The massage therapist named Eun Chae would secretly record all these conversations and share them with A-ri to expose their real side.
Ultimately, A-ri and Shi-hyeon confront Eun Chae, whose real name is Lee Seon-yeong. Seon-yeong tells A-ri that it angers her how she has to work hard day and night to earn money while influencers spend a large amount of money in just one day. She wasn’t a fan of these e-celebs. Seon-yeong jumps from the window. Thankfully, she didn’t die and suffered some injuries. A-ri and Shi-hyeon inform the cops about her so that they can arrest her once she has recovered.
The episode ends with A-ri telling the viewers that she doesn’t want to be an influencer anymore. A-ri and Shi-hyeon also visit Seon-yeong’s house to look at where she succeeded in manipulating everyone. Shi-hyeon shows A-ri an Instagram support page created in her favour when she was assumed dead. But A-ri still doesn’t want to be an influencer and leaves the tablet on the table.
In the last scene, the cleaning company arrives at Seon-yeong’s house. One of the men looks at the tablet and smiles at the support page for Seo A-ri. The man is no one else but Lee Jun-ho. Jun-ho is the lead vocalist of the 2 PM K-pop band.
The series is now streaming on Netflix.
