Castaway Diva Episode 7 Recap

Castaway Diva episode 7 begins with a flashback of Song Ha-jung’s when she tried to escape her husband by having their names changed, and this effort brought her fate to her now husband Kang Sang-doo who was a civil servant. The two began to bond and took over the identity of a missing family of four to escape the hell she had been living in with her sons.

Sang-doo tells Woo-hak about this and tells him that his real name is Jung Chae-ho while Bo-geol is Jung Ki-ho. This leaves Woo-hak shocked, however, what shocks him next is when he finds out Mok-ha will soon be performing on stage. Meanwhile, Bo-geol talks with Seo-joon who is angered by his audacity of changing the script for the show.

However, he is unable to say anything as Bo-geol makes it clear that he would rather write an apology letter to him than a resignation letter after Mo-rae’s lip-syncing. Elsewhere, Ran-joo is also worried about what Bo-geol has planned as she believes that Mok-ha will turn out like Mo-rae and betray her trust.

Mok-ha tells her that she knows that she would not betray her as she is not Mo-rae and tells her about the story of her seagull friend whose eggs she didn’t eat because it was her friend. Ran-joo is unable to say anything but when people arrive to prepare Mok-ha for the show, she tells them to go ahead and leaves to read the script.

Later, she bursts out in tears when reading the script and is seen by Seo-joon who stands outside her door to keep anyone from entering. Meanwhile, Mok-ha and Mo-rae prepare for the show when Woo-hak comes searching for the former and is shocked by her transformation. He isn’t the only one as everyone who comes across Mok-ha is shocked by the change she has gone through.

As Mok-ha prepares for the stage, she notices the stage prepared by Bo-geol which is similar to the sea she once dreamed of being. As memories with Ki-ho flood her once again, her doubts about Bo-geol’s identity resurface; elsewhere, Mo-rae prepares for the show with everything she has.

Soon, the show begins with Ran-joo and Mo-rae presenting themselves before the competition begins. Then the moment comes for Ran-joo to reveal the truth and with her trust in Mok-ha, she reveals how she got her help throughout her comeback. She tells the audience that she only wished for Mok-ha’s voice to reach everyone after her devastating experience and this was the only way she found.

Now, she hopes that the audience will vote for the voice and not for the singer as she believes that she too deserves a chance. With this, the contest begins with Mok-ha’s voice followed by Mo-rae and the audience begins flooding in their votes. Seo-jun is also left wonderstruck by Mok-ha and asks for his number from Yong-gwan as the votes come to an end.

Finally, Bo-geol sees himself as the Ki-ho who had once wanted to fulfil Mok-ha’s dream and has finally done what he wished. Mok-ha sings her heart out on stage and rushes to hug Ran-joo right after as she promises to never betray her idol who brought her to this stage. Later, Ran-joo and Mo-rae meet in the washroom where they listen to the comments made after the show.

Ran-joo is suspicious that something is wrong with Mo-rae and advises her to choose a different path from herself so that she doesn’t turn out like Ran-joo in the present. Mo-rae understands these words and later hugs her fans who cheer on her after the show, promising to do better next time.

Meanwhile, Mok-ha rushes to find Bo-geol while the latter does the same; however, Bo-geol is pulled to the stairs by Woo-hak who is annoyed by what Bo-geol has done. Mok-ha overhears their conversation as they reveal that the person she had been searching for this whole time was in front of her.

She is shocked and leaves there when she sees Jung Bong-wan waiting in front of the building. She makes a bold choice at this moment and tells Ran-joo to go home before she proceeds to meet him. She then arrives in front of Bong-wan and tells him that she doesn’t know about Ki-ho’s whereabouts when asked by him.

He then moves on to mention having more than one son, which was something not known by the people of the island. However, seeing Mok-ha not react to this makes him realise that she has met his sons and tells him thanks for letting him know that his son is alive. Mok-ha is shocked by what she has done and escapes from there, thus, deciding to leave the city.

Castaway Diva Episode 7 Ending

Mok-ha escapes to a faraway place and sends Ran-joo a text in which she tells her intentions of running away while being thankful for what she has done for her this whole time. Ran-joo is shocked by this message and shows it to the Kang brothers who have arrived at the rooftop room while searching for Mok-ha.

They too are shocked by the message and leave to find Mok-ha, who on the other side has arrived at a faraway place to begin a new life. Unaware that the brothers have arrived there in search of her, she enters a restaurant for food and starts crying about how she lied to Ran-joo about not eating the seagull’s eggs.

Right then Bo-geol enters the restaurant and introduces himself as her former classmate after which she tries to escape. This time, Bo-geol is not ready to let her go and confronts to Mok-ha about his identity and how he wishes to be the one who found her. She tells him to go back to Seoul and live as Bo-geol but he tells her how much he regretted not being Ki-ho when they found her on the island.

Now, he thanks her for being alive and finally hugs her at last when Woo-hak arrives to see the scene of the two together.

Castaway Diva Episode 7 Review

Episode 7 has begun the second half of this show and it has already brought us a beautiful beginning for Mok-ha and her Ki-ho aka Bo-geol. From showing us a different side of Mok-ha and Ran-joo’s insecurities to the yearning of the two who escaped the island is beautifully shown in this episode.

The emotions shown by these three actors have to be among the best as they flawlessly carried out their roles leaving us wanting to give them a big hug. While everyone in the Kang family deserves a hug, these three have made sure to stand out throughout the show and bring emotions of various colours onto the screen.

Altogether, this episode has me excited for what more is to come to the lives of these characters and hopeful for the Mok-ha Bo-geol ship to have a smooth sail. However, the secret hidden in the faraway lake, Lee Seo-jun, and Jung Bong-wan are sure to make sure the story goes on from this point on.
