Castaway Diva has finally come to an end this weekend and the journey was surely one to be remembered for long. From all the green flags to the positivity the show brings to our hearts, this show is surely one that cannot be missed this year. But how does the story end? Let’s take a look!
Castaway Diva (무인도의 디바) is a Korean rom-com that tells the story of a woman stranded on an island for 15 years and how she comes back into society and tries to pursue her dream to be an idol. Directed by Oh Choong-hwan, the drama stars Park Eun-bin, Kim Hyo-jin, Chae Jong-hyeop, Cha Hak-yeon, Kim Joo-heon, and Lee Re, alongside other cast members.
The Kdrama tells the story of Seo Mok-ha who dreams of becoming a singer, however, an incident leaves her stranded on a deserted island where she survives for 15 years. Now, she is rescued, but times have changed and circumstances make achieving her dream challenging. Will she be able to become a singer and get her stage?

Castaway Diva Ending Explained
Castaway Diva episode 12 brought the end to this beautiful rom-com which held smiles, tears, love, and emotions that cannot all be written down. The drama showed us the beautiful journey of Seo Mok-ha, Lee Ki-ho, Yoo Ran-joo and all the characters attached to their lives. Now let’s take a look into how this beautiful show ends, where dreams come true with the efforts of many.
Towards the end of episode 12, we see everyone slowly settling into their lives where we first see Ki-ho and Mok-ha sharing the fate that brought them together. Ki-ho makes it clear that meeting Mok-ha wasn’t a coincidence but fate as he made sure to never give up on the fact that she was alive.
From breaking the water tank at her house, then meeting Ran-joo to tell her about Mok-ha, then later waiting for Mok-ha at Seoul station; these were all done right after the incident and when Ki-ho escaped from the island. Later, he joined the navy and made a group to go around cleaning islands so that he could continue his search for Mok-ha.

For him, meeting Mok-ha was something that he had been working hard for all these years because he always knew that she was alive. And this is a truth that is also known by Mok-ha because she knows that Ki-ho never gave up on her in all these years.
On the other hand, Seo-jun’s choice to have Mok-ha and Mo-rae exchange songs is in action. While Mok-ha continues to improvise on the lyrics, Mo-rae approaches Ran-joo to have her produce her song. She promises to name Ran-joo as one of the songwriters which intrigues Ran-joo and makes her accept the deal.
Soon, their songs are released and while Mo-rae easily tops the charts, Mok-ha slowly rises from the bottom. While she continues to rise, Yong-gwan asks Seo-jun to let him be part of Mok-ha’s team. Soon, Mok-ha tells Ran-joo about getting her first gig and it is the same event where Mok-ha met Ran-joo for the first time.
While Ran-joo is disappointed by this, Mok-ha’s excitement keeps her moving to help Mok-ha out in every way possible. So much so that Ran-joo decides to prepare the same surprise Mok-ha had prepared for her back then. However, creating a balloon event is not easy and soon the Lee brothers (previously known as the Kang brothers), arrive to help the two out.
Later, Ran-joo returns to Mok-ha and shares her worries when she sees Mo-rae topping the charts while Mok-ha only climbs slowly. Seeing this, Mok-ha reminds Ran-joo about her ice box story and how the packet of ramen pushed her to keep herself alive for another 5 minutes. During these 5-minute waits, Mok-ha would wonder what she would do and this is when she saw the sunlight shine through the trees.
This moment made her forget about the 5 minutes wait and started to get herself with something or the other. Mok-ha stopped stressing herself and crying, instead, she started picking herself up whenever something happened and continued to move forward until the drone found her.
Even after returning to society, many questions came to her mind. But when she heard the song she got, she was reminded of the same sunlight which erased all her useless questions. This is why, she got the strength to only focus on her singing instead of asking useless questions.
Listening to Mok-ha and her faith, Ran-joo calls Seo-jun who is about to fulfil his side of the bet by giving up his position and shares. She tells him to wait for some more time to see the final results as she believes in Mok-ha’s belief. Soon, Mok-ha goes up on stage and sees blue balloons everywhere which have been prepared by Ran-joo and the others.
Mok-ha is filled with joy and begins her performance with confidence. The scene changes as the song proceeds as Mok-ha goes from this small event hall to a fully packed stadium where the audience is cheering for her. As she finally performs for the world, Ki-ho takes over the camera settings behind the scenes. Thus, we know that Mok-ha has indeed topped the charts with Mo-rae’s song.
Later, the two are seen on the Lee family’s breakfast table where Mok-ha finally gets all the happiness that she deserves. From being a famed singer to finding a loving family, Mok-ha gets her happily ever after.
