Bucchigiri Episode 7 Review: Another episode has dropped from this unusual but entertaining anime after a long time. Read ahead to find out more.
Bucchigiri Episode 7 Overview
Bucchigiri?! is a new anime series and an original anime from MAPPA, the studio behind popular shows like Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen. It’s set to premiere this January, so it’s just around the corner!

The series is described as a return to the delinquent/Yanki genre of anime, which was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s with shows like Cromartie High School and Great Teacher Onizuka.
Under the direction of Hiroko Utsumi and the story of Taku Kishimoto, the series also consists of the musical composition of Michiru Ōshima, while character designs are by Takahiro Kagami.
The opening theme, “Sesame” by Kroi, sets the tone, and the ending theme will be Love je t’aime (らぶじゅてーむ)” by Mahiru Coda (甲田まひる).
I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Bucchigiri Episode 7 Review and Recap: Mahoro Is Not Impressed

Bucchigiri?! is finally back after taking a break for one week. One might have thought that things would finally be great after the last fight, but well, not really, things did not change that much. After showing how manly our protagonist is, Arajin is expecting a great many things to happen to him. He expects to be treated as some hotshot who has achieved a great feat, and he does get that treatment from his friends at school.
But he also expects Mahoro to be all over him and be absolutely smitten with him now that he has saved her and others. Sadly, for him, she is far from acting like that, as she still treats him like a speck of dust, and he readily accepts it with open arms. But what he thought would be a dream come true in this episode, turns out to be a nightmare. Never had he considered the double date that Marito was inviting him, will be an all-out fighting match.
This episode had some nicely choreographed fights, which this anime is known for. But other than that, not much happened plot-wise, other than us understanding that Siguma Squad and Minato Kai are in an understanding position now that all the misunderstandings have dissipated.
If we talk about character development, then fans can be a bit disappointed cause our hero Arajin is still a simp who can easily sell his soul for Mahoro. She, on the other hand, is just too busy admiring her brother to even take a glance towards her admirer. But yes, Arajin is more friendly with Matakara, and now, he does treat him like a decent human being.

However, the mystery surrounding the other Honki person is still not cleared. We see Emperor now slaving away for Siguma Squad and Minato Kai, but he still has some tricks up his sleeve. Perhaps this is why his Honki person or Ichiya, even advises Emperor to put up with what he is facing right now. There is clearly bad blood between Senya and Ichiya, and we will have to wait to see what it is about.
Verdict
This episode was decent, and the fights were entertaining. The comedy also worked in some places. Perhaps the most shocking part of the episode was how the teacher finally moved on from Jasmine and settled on Puer.
If gag humor mixed with heavy fights is something you enjoy, then definitely check it out.
