Sports documentaries never go out of style and it’s time to behold the pains and gains of the tennis world in Netflix’s upcoming series Break Point. The OTT platforms has slated the release of Part 1 (first five episodes) in January, while the second chapter (the latter five episodes) will be unveiled in June. A lot of drama can be witnessed on court during the ostensibly tireless series of championships, but many thing still remain unheard. Box to Box Films studio is back after the success of Formula One: Drive to Survive to push our focus towards tennis with this show.
What is Break Point About?
Netflix’s official description of the docuseries goes as follows, ” Travel alongside some of the world’s most talented tennis players as they swing for greatness and Grand Slams through an action-packed season.”

Following “an era of greatness” filled with the likes of Serena Williams, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and others, the world can’t seem to foresee the future of tennis. As some of the biggest names of the sport take a seat back, the void has depended even further. Therefore, the biggest question of the moment is who’s going to carry forth the baton for a game that has long been an illustrious glory.
At such a time, Break Point sets the stage for the new, up and coming line-up of players taking on the responsibility to make it big. While Williams, Federer and the others have certainly paved the way for them all, it has also set the bar quite higher for these newcomers who’re presently adorning the visage of underdogs at the Grand Slams.
The series will then take us through some of these new arrivals’ individual journeys, thus giving them a platform to articulate their hardships, while also expressing the heavy burdens they have to shoulder on their way to become “the next big thing” on the court. Additionally, the deep and personal talks exchanged with the players will positively tackle ingrained societal issues – sexism, racism,, mental health, etc – that play a major role in countering the sports outlook as well.

Which Players Will be Seen in Break Point?
A lot racket smashes await us in this heartening personal account that will feature players like Félix Auger-Aliassime, Paula Badosa, Matteo Berrettini, Taylor Fritz, Ons Jabeur, Nick Kyrgios, Casper Ruud, Aryna Sabalenka, Maria Sakkari and Ajla Tomljanović. Others included in the rush are Thanasi Kokkinakis, Sloane Stephens, Iga Swiatek, Frances Tiafoe, and Stefanos Tsitsipas. Tennis legends Maria Sharapova, Andy Roddick and John McEnroe will also reveal some insights.
