Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 11 Recap

Although Nagi managed to intercept Shidou, his relentless energy couldn’t be completely stifled, as he quickly reclaimed the momentum for his team. It’s evident that Shidou is now the most formidable presence on the court, always ready to strike and potentially score another goal at any moment. The situation takes a dramatic turn when Shidou enters a flow state, shifting the dynamics entirely. Sae’s ability to not only temper Shidou’s ego but also deliver precise passes that allowed him to unlock his full potential played a key role in Shidou’s evolution.

Shidou’s goal was nothing short of phenomenal, demonstrating raw power that might even surpass Rin’s. This brought the score to 3-2 in favour of the U-20 team. Now, Blue Lock faces the critical challenge of catching up to avoid a crushing defeat.
However, the Blue Lock team isn’t backing down. Isagi, determined to find a way forward, seeks guidance from Ego. His response, though unconventional, sparks a renewed drive within Isagi and his teammates.
Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 12 Review

Today’s episode saw some interesting developments, but it is still not the time where Isagi gets to shine. In the beginning, we see Oliver, too, wanting to become a striker. He was both a good defender but also dreamt of being the best striker in the world. However, his coach saw how good he is when it comes to assists and how the game automatically becomes elevated when he is there to defend against his rivals. This is why, for the overall game and his teammates, Oliver had to change his objectives and his growth was cut short even before he got to bloom.
But he did not sit back and lament that, as he then decided to be the greatest defender of all time and stop all the mass-produced strikers that came his way. Hence, in the under-20 team, he is one of the biggest menaces who can stop anyone and everyone. But he is not the only one who elevated his game to evolve into a new beast of a player. Gagamaru comes up as a formidable goalkeeper who is on the road to be one of the greatest in his field.

Apart from that, when Gagamaru tries to tell Reo to kick the ball in the corner, Reo does a perfect copy of Nagi and shows off some marvellous feats. In this episode, everyone from the Blue Lock team rightly upgrades their play as they know they must counterattack or they will fail. Isagi also comes very close to finally solving his puzzle and finding his own flow, but sadly, he gets discovered by Sae.
Sae finally realises Isagi is the true heart of Blue Lock and the one controlling the momentum and making plays. He tries to put a stop to him and almost succeeds in doing so, but it is not that easy to shut him down anymore. However, Barou is the one who shines towards the end the most for overcoming everything and making a comeback like never before.
Verdict

Today’s episode showcased the fighting spirit of Blue Lock even when they are one point down. Everyone showed what they were made of, and they all came together to prove their worth. I hope that in the next episode, we will finally see Isagi achieve his goal and win the tournament.
