Blue Box Episode 5 Recap

This episode begins with Taiki’s triumphant, narrow victory, successfully keeping Kishi from obtaining Chinatsu’s number. Though Kishi vows to return stronger for a rematch, for now, he’s out of the picture, leaving Taiki and Chinatsu’s connection uninterrupted. Yet, what Taiki doesn’t anticipate is Chinatsu’s sudden, spontaneous invitation to an aquarium date right after his win.

This invitation leaves Taiki both thrilled and completely bewildered. How did he manage to land a date with his crush without even realizing it? His loyal friend, Kyo, deserves major credit as an exceptional wingman, while Hina, another friend, teases him excitedly about his “first date.” However, when Hina later meets up with her own friends, they notice her seeming unnaturally upset, reinforcing the hint of her own growing feelings for Taiki.

Blue Box Episode 6 Review

Hina’s likely in love with him but may not have considered it seriously due to their long-standing friendship. Now that Taiki is pursuing someone else, her awareness of her feelings is intensifying. It’s yet to be seen if she’ll remain a supportive friend who can let her feelings go, or if she’ll become an obstacle in Taiki and Chinatsu’s budding relationship.

The highlight of the episode is Taiki’s careful preparation for the date, which turns out to be a truly special experience for him. Throughout the outing, he’s conscious of Chinatsu’s presence, showing just how much he cherishes her and values her attention. Although he may not fully grasp it, there are subtle signs that Chinatsu feels a genuine attraction toward him as well.

Blue Box Episode 6 Review And Recap

Blue Box Episode 6 Review

Today’s episode pretty much revolves entirely around Hina. Previously, we saw her discovering Chinatsu and Taiki’s little secret. You would think that she would leave them be, but she does something entirely opposite. She actually confronts them directly about their living situation. Seeing no escape, Taiki finally caves and tells her why Chinatsu has been living with him. For keeping something so important hidden from her, Hina obviously did not forgive Taiki and even made him balance comic books on his lap.

However, now that Hina knows that her friend is closer to his crush than ever before, she tries her best to be happy for him. Sadly, this is where the problem starts. Hina always considered Taiki as her precious buddy, with whom she could joke around and be herself. Perhaps, this is why, she never really understood that she had fallen in love with him. Thus, now that Taiki likes someone else, Hina is finally realising her own predicament.

We see her struggling with this notion and being mentally affected by it. She is a star athlete who is easily one of the top contenders in the gymnastics scene in the country. In such a crucial position, Hina starts to fumble her routine and mess up her practises. Taiki sees all this but is oblivious to what is going on. He thinks that she is just stressed with all the practice, but we know the problem is graver than that.

But that is not all, the whole thing is actually turning out to be a very messy love triangle that we will have to just sit back and endure. Not just us, even Kyo gets a hint about Hina’s feelings, and it seems he too, just wants to observe as of now.

Verdict

Today’s episode was deep and funny but also indicative of the drama that will come in the future. You will definitely get torn between Chinatsu and Hina as a contender for Taiki’s affection.
