Blonde is an upcoming biographical fiction film based on the life of the most popular culture icon, Marilyn Monroe. It is written and directed by Andrew Dominik and will be released on Netflix in the coming months. The released trailer of the film shows the glamourous life and the vulnerable reality behind the famous persona.
The synopsis of the film reads – Based on the bestselling novel by Joyce Carol Oates, this boldly reimagined fictional portrait of Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe stars Ana de Armas. The cast members also include Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Xavier Samuel, Julianne Nicholson, Lily Fisher and Evan Williams.
From her volatile childhood as Norma Jeane, through her rise to stardom and romantic entanglements, Blonde blurs the lines of fact and fiction to explore the widening split between her public and private selves. After a traumatic childhood, Norma Jeane became an actress in Hollywood in the 1950s and early 1960s.

She became world famous under the pseudonym Marilyn Monroe. But her on-screen appearances are in stark contrast to the love issues, exploitation, abuse of power, and drug addiction she faced in her private life.
Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Tracey Landon, Brad Pitt, and Scott Robertson serve as producers on the film, which had begun developing as a project as early as 2010, by the director. According to him, it tells the story of how childhood trauma shapes an adult who’s split between a public and a private self.
It’s basically the story of every human being, but it’s using a certain sense of association that we have with something very familiar, just through media exposure. It takes all of those things and turns the meanings of them inside out, according to how she feels, which is basically how we live.
