Once Upon A Small Town (Netflix)
Released in 2022, the feel-good drama has 12 episodes and stars Red Velvet’s Joy, Choo Young-woo and Baek Seong-cheol. Set in a quiet village side town, the viewers come across two guys and one girl who are connected in ways that the others don’t realise. Joy and Seong-cheol’s characters are childhood friends and while the latter is in love with the former, it all changes when Choo Young-woo’s character enters the quiet town and changes the relationship of the two best friends.
This drama is the perfect pick if you enjoy a simple and cute love story along with a feel-good village-centric theme. With a 30-minute run-time for each episode, one can binge-watch it in a day as well!
Soundtrack #1 (Disney+ Hotstar)
Park Hyung-sik takes on the role of Han Seon-woo while Han So-hee plays a lyricist named Lee Eun-seo in the 4 episode series. Seon-woo and Eun-seo have been best friends for over 20 years. Their friendship gets tested when they share a house for a few weeks and realise there is more to know about the other. Will they fall in love or will they continue being friends?
This drama is perfect for someone who wants a short and sweet love story between two people who are completely comfortable with each other. It also has the trope of the male lead falling for the female lead first, which is adorable to watch.
A Love So Beautiful (Netflix)
A remake of the popular Chinese drama, A Love So Beautiful stars So Joo-yeon as Shin Sol-yi and WEi’s Kim Yo-han as Cha Heon as young high-school classmates who slowly fall in love with each other in a cute manner. Sol-yi initially falls for Cha Heon but her cute antics melt Heon’s heart as well.
The drama is a great pick for the high-school romance genre with 24 episodes and while there are some tropes in the series, the makers use it wisely to create the story.

Mr. Queen (Netflix)
A 20-episode hilarious historical/time-travel drama, released in 2020, stars Shin Hye-sun as Queen Cheorin and Kim Jung-hyun as King Cheoljong. The drama starts in the present time, where Choi Jin-hyuk’s character Jang Bong-hwan finds himself traveling back to the Joseon period and in the body of Queen Cheorin.
Mr. Queen is known for its unique storyline and exceptional acting that keeps you gripping your seat the entire time. From the main characters to the side characters, the drama makes you care for each one of them.
So Not Worth It (Netflix)
The 2021 series, comprising 12 episodes, follows a group of people from different cultural backgrounds residing in a college dormitory. With talented cast members like GOT7’s Youngjae, (G)I-DLE’s Minnie, Park Se-wan, Shin Hyeon-seung and others, there is a unique story that shows how different nationalities live in South Korea. It has a lot of comedy as well as feel-good stories within the series.
Blue Birthday (Rakuten Viki)
Starring Red Velvet’s Yeri and PENTAGON’s Hongseok, the 2021 romance fantasy drama follows the journey of Oh Ha-rin (Yeri) who goes back in time to save her first love, Ji Seo-jun (Hongseok) from committing suicide. The 16-episode drama has a short run-time but is filled with many tropes- friends-turned-lovers, a mysterious death, time travel and more. The drama also displays the pain of moving on from a loss early in life as well as the grief that remains with you and changes you as a person. It is a tear-jerker but with a gripping storyline, it will make you feel like you are part of the journey.
Shooting Stars (Netflix)
The 2022 drama starring Lee Sung-kyung, Kim Young-dae, Yoon Jong-hoon and others is a romantic comedy that delves into the world of stars and the people who work hard for them. Oh Han-byul (Lee Sung-kyung) is the head of Public Relations for Star Force Entertainment where her long-time frenemy Gong Tae-sung (Kim Young-dae) is the top star. The two are always seen having a row ever since an incident put them on two different continents. But as they do, there is a thin line between love and hate. The drama is perfect for the ones who love a strong-headed female lead and a comical male lead. With a mix of romance, comedy and even mystery, there is a lot of potential for this K-drama to be your favourite!
