Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan was back on the big screen on November 1, 2024, with the much-awaited movie, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 reviews on Twitter, have been flooding in since morning. As expected, Kartik’s dedicated fanbase turned theatres into cheer-filled arenas, celebrating his comeback and bringing an electrifying atmosphere to the screenings. Released around Diwali, this Anees Bazmee-comedy-horror seemed to promise the festive period a movie that would indeed be at the top and the wait of the crowd to know how this chapter compares with the iconic film.
Starring Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 unfolds in a haunted mansion in West Bengal’s fictional kingdom of Raktaghat, where Kartik’s character, Rooh Baba, confronts two vengeful spirits, both claiming to be Manjulika. In a world where all the other previous parts of the franchise have been automatically trending, it is still early viewers that seem to be leaving the cinema halls with mixed emotions for failing to look beyond that lack of originality without proper horror and comedy as put in place by the previous episodes.
The fans of Kartik Aaryan just loved him as a person and hailed him for the wit he possessed along with dedication towards the subject. The user stated, “Kartk is the only thing this #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 has going for it. His screen presence alone is enough to lift up the film.” A very appreciative fanbase was cheering him online over action-packed sequences as well as his impeccable sense of timing in comedy sequences; in fact, popularity isn’t waning by one’s standards. After that fanbase, overall people reacted with utter disgust about content in the BhoolBhulaiyaa3. At all ends, no real exciting thrill was seen.
Some of them commented saying that the film has over- marketing and too much publicized. People complained, “The film failed to meet the people’s expectation.” A person on commenting on this expressed saying, “#BhoolBhulaiyaa3 lacks all that makes the original ‘ Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ so ‘magical’. Great Marketing though. The movie lacked complete ‘closure’. How a screenplay can come apart from each other that does not hold your mind.” “High anticipation, never got to pay off.”. Script felt weak, and the comedy just didn’t land.”
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 did not work out for all, but some audience found the suspense and plot twist quite engaging. Some of the fans loved the spooky atmosphere and supernatural elements. One user even tweeted, “Horror, suspense, and mind-bending twists! A thrilling addition to the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise. Another added, “Fear and comedy merge perfectly here, and Kartik’s performance is stellar!” This was a group of fans that appreciated the unpredictable turns suggesting the film was an entertaining horror-comedy with fresh takes on haunted thrills.
This is sure to remind one of the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa of 2007, where Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan featured in a horror-comedy jodi that has now become etched in popular memory. The original has set the bar too high, and many have been nostalgic for its signature style, which they feel was missing in this sequel.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 ends on mixed reviews for viewers. Fans of Kartik Aaryan have more reasons to celebrate him, as he really is a stunner on-screen, but others were really dismayed at the lack of anything cohesive about horror or even comedy. The legacy lives on, though: This franchise remains a cult phenomenon, and audiences look hopefully toward the next iteration having recaptured the original for which they will always remain in memory.
