Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 2 Episode 2 Title
Attack On Titan Season 4 Episode 18, Attack on Titan Episode 77

What more is there left to be said about Attack On Titan? Even if you only consider yourself a casual anime fan, this show is probably one that you know about and watch avidly. It is an action and supernatural show based on the works of Hajime Isayama. It is known as Shingeki no Kyojin in original Japanese, and thus this half of the season is also called Shingeki no Kyojin Season 4 Part 2. You can also call it Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 or Shingeki no Kyojin Final Season Part 2 if you’d like.

This season is being animated by Studio MAPPA, a powerhouse studio behind several immensely popular anime properties, including Jujutsu Kaisen and the future Chainsaw Man. This season is directed by Yuiichirou Hayashi, with Jun Shishido serving as the chief director of the show. The duo was also in charge of Part 1 of the final season, alongside several other acclaimed anime such as Kakegurui and Hajime no Ippo. You can find our review of the previous episode right here.

Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 2 Episode 2 Review-

Titan Attack On Titan Season 4 Episode 18

Each new episode in the Titan saga is an event for most anime fans that they eagerly anticipate. Many expectations and predictions are connected to the show simply because of the narrative it has whipped up and the type of story it is telling. While that gives out a bunch of euphorias when an episode delivers, the disappointment of a mediocre episode is also felt more severely, especially since we are in the final throes of the show.

Fortunately, this episode was among the best that the show has ever done as it showcased both of its fortes- Human emotions and Titan fights- spectacularly. There was some payoff to elements set in part one of the season, and there were several confrontations that we had been waiting to see since the start of the season. The motives of the show’s central protagonist remain in question, but the show has recentered Eren’s decisions and has forced the viewers to look at them in a new light due to Armen’s words. That can only be a good thing since Eren’s actions were beyond wack this entire time.

Mikasa Armin Attack On Titan Season 4 Episode 18

Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 Episode 2 was entirely focused on the fight between Paradis and Marley, as Marleyan invaders have attacked the isolated island to get the Founding Titan back. The conflict between Mikasa and Eren is also explored, with Armin playing peacemaker, as always. Gabi and Falco see things clearly for once, and Zeke finally arrives on the battlefield to utterly devastate the enemy’s army and help Eren.

The animation and sound of the show remain beyond impressive. The lighting effects and shading used to portray dark caverns, inside jail cells, and anything where there isn’t much light are phenomenal and give the show an even more mature and bleak tone. Attack on Titan‘s tone itself sets it apart from anything else that has come before or alongside it- there simply isn’t this much death, anguish, and despair anywhere else.

The show made a weird decision to lead off part 1 of their final season with an entirely new plotline and mostly new characters. It hasn’t made much sense or been a fulfilling decision so far, and I doubt that it ever will. What’s done is done, and we’ll likely have these all-new villains that have never had a connection with the characters we grew to like over several seasons until the show ends. I don’t care for Gabi, Yelena, or even Zeke. These aren’t the characters that we witnessed suffering and growing in the earlier seasons, and it sucks that Jean, Connie, Mikasa and Armin don’t have much to do because of them.

Verdict

Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 2 Episode 2 was fantastic. The action was phenomenal, the storytelling great, and the animation and soundtrack were tremendous, which is nothing new for the show.
