Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Overview
Alchemy of Souls season 2 (Alchemy of Souls Part 2: Light and Shadow/ 환혼: 파트2) is the sequel of the Korean historical drama series directed by Park Joon-hwa and starring Lee Jae-wook, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, Yoo Jun-sang, Oh Na-ra and Jo Jae-yoon, alongside other cast members.
The sequel brings the story 3 years after the tragic ending we witnessed in season 1, and with Go Yoon-jung joining the cast as the new female lead. As Jang Uk becomes a hunter of the soul-shifters, a young woman, a prisoner in her own home, seeks his help to reclaim her freedom.
Alchemy of Souls season 2 takes over tvN’s Saturday-Sunday 9:10 OM KST timeslot previously held by Under the Queen’s Umbrella.

tvN’s synopsis of the upcoming season reads: “Jang Uk returns from death, and three years later, the story of the mages unfolds anew. Jang Uk becomes a hunter of the soul-shifters when a young woman, a prisoner in her own home, seeks his help to reclaim her freedom.”

Jang Uk takes away Bu-yeon from Ho-kyung in front of the Unanimous Assembly. Bu-yeon enjoys her newfound freedom and meets Seo Yul and the crown prince during her outing.
Elsewhere, Jin Mu distracts Jang Uk as the jade egg in his hand shine and pulls him into the first where he meets a woman he did not expect.
Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Episode 2 Recap
Alchemy of Souls season 2 episode 2 has Jang Uk realising that Bu-yeon has lost her powers and he asks her to leave after destroying her tracking thread. However, an attack brings her back to Jang Uk.
The secret of Bu-yeon/ Naksu’s return is finally revealed while Ho-kyung’s subordinates soon find Bu-yeon when she meets Seo Yul. Bu-yeon’s news spreads throughout Daeho and Jin Mu pressurises Ho-kyung to bring her to the Unanimous Assembly to declare her the new heiress.
However, Jang Uk discovers that Bu-yeon can still help him so he barges into the assembly to test this. Finding out that he was right, he announces that he had secretly married Bu-yeon and she is now his wife.
