Alchemy of Souls Overview
Alchemy of Souls (Return/환혼) is a 2022 Korean historical drama series directed by Park Joon-hwa and starring Lee Jae-wook, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, Yoo Jun-sang, Oh Na-ra and Jo Jae-yoon, alongside other cast members.
The series revolves around Jang Wook and Mu-deok, residents of the fictional country of Daeho, whose shortcomings get eradicated when they invariably come into each other’s lives. Deok-yi, an elite warrior trapped in a weak body, becomes Jang Wook’s servant and secret teacher and helps him become better than the rumours that follow him. Will they be able to help each other get what they want out of life?
Alchemy of Souls takes over tvN’s Saturday-Sunday 9 PM KST timeslot previously occupied by Our Blues.

Alchemy of Souls Episode 20 Predictions
Jin Chu-yeon is getting married, but the trouble is soon to arrive for Mu-deok as Jin Mu knows who she is. With mystical bells that compel her to come to Jin Mu, what lies ahead for her? On the other hand, Park Jin wants Jin Mu dead while the latter manipulates the crown prince into saving him.
Elsewhere, Jin Ho-kyung might get to know about her real daughter.
Alchemy of Souls Episode 19 Recap
Episode 19 shows the past of Jun Bu-yeon which repeats in front of Jin Mu when Mu-deok was taken away in the storm caused by the ice storm. As Park Jin reveals what happened to the ice stone years back, he lets everyone know the righteous decision that was made by the priestess of Jinyowon.
Elsewhere, Jang Uk has a plan to break the barrier, but this will cost him his powers. But this is the only way to save Seo Yul and get everyone out of here which makes Mu-deok support him.’
In Gaema village, Jin Cho-yeon and Park Dang-gu follow Jin Woo-tak and overhear him revealing the truth about the queen and So Yi. The latter is unable to fight against his daughter and gives up resisting.
The real queen is then taken in front of the royal family, Jinyowon, Songrim and Cheonbugwan. With everything coming out in the open, Park Jin threatens shaman Choi to let go of the queen’s body in exchange for her brother’s life.
However, Jin Woo-tak tells her to escape and kills himself. Enraged by this shaman Choi reveals her next step of activating the soul ejector and taking away the power of the ice stone which will kill everyone trapped inside the barrier.
Park Jin tries to stop her but fails, and right then Jang Kang arrives outside the training centre and stops the alchemy by taking the brunt on himself. Elsewhere, Jang Uk is using Tansu to give away all his powers to the barrier in order to break it.
Back in the training centre, Jang Kang arrives and takes the blame for everything that went wrong with Songrim, Jinyowon and CHeonbugwan. He then accepts the death penalty and kills himself.
On the other hand, Jang Uk finds himself in a mystical place that looks like the sky filled with stars. He understands that his powers are no more and picks up the ice stone which is worth nothing. The stars then line up around him and the star under him shines bright, indicating the rise of the King’s star.
He is aware of being the King’s star but makes everyone think that the crown prince is the real king’s star. With Mu-deok and Jang Uk having lost their powers, they are not saddened but look forward to their days together.
After the chaos comes to an end, Mu-deok says goodbye as Naksu to Seo Yul and tells him to take care of himself. On the other hand, Kim Do-ju and Park Jin get to know the truth about Jang Uk’s birth father and make sure to never let this secret leak.
On the other hand, everyone is looking for Jin Mu who secretly meets up with the crown prince and instigates him against Jang Uk. While at Chwiseonru, Jang Uk gets Mu-deok to release him as her student.
After this, he proposes to her to get married.
