– Agent Elvis Review Does Not Contain Spoilers –
The entire premise of Agent Elvis is hilarious. Without even getting into a single episode, the thought of the famous singer pairing up with a chimp to fight crime is amusing and absolutely entertaining. Walking into the episodes themselves, your thoughts wouldn’t be incorrect in any way – the show is everything that adult animated show fans have been waiting for. It’s wacky, super entertaining and goes down some very dark roads of comedy.
Although you’d expect a show based on the King to be fun and frothy, but man, Agent Elvis is so dark sometimes and not to mention the language – wow. In one word, it’s the perfect watch for every adult who wants to be thoroughly entertained and surprised. The show reminded me of Archer in many more ways than one, but the absolutely insane humour is something that both of these shows do very well. Thus, if you’re well versed with Archer, the new adult animated comedy is going to be easy to settle into.

Agent Elvis‘s Elvis is the usual foul-mouthed protagonist who seems rather normal, surrounded by sheer madness. His associates and the situations that they get into are both hilarious and raging mad, and in between this chaos, Elvis feels like a warm but constantly-cursing hug. Of course, he has some interesting backstory there as well that we pick apart throughout the show. Other than him, we have Scatter, the psychopathic chimp; he’s honestly my favourite character here because, like, how can he not be? There are also several other characters who are somewhat interesting but nothing we haven’t seen before.
It’s also interesting to note that Agent Elvis uses real-life past incidents in its storytelling, but with a twist. Sure, Charles Manson and his family might have died, but maybe our trusted Elvis had something to do with it. there are several such moments and scenarios in the show that just make it so fun to watch that even if there are some moments that don’t land, the incidents themselves are just so outlandish that you can’t help but find humour in them.

Other than the insane storyline, the animation is striking and will further pull viewers to the show. The suave and charismatic Elvis’s double life is beautifully created with vibrant colours and sharp contrasts that make watching this all the more entertaining. The music is also splendid and makes the show a delicious watch.
Of course, there are some moments in Agent Elvis that just don’t work. Although it makes do with its outlandish jokes and scenes, there still are storylines that won’t land for most. These moments are clearly not given much to work with, and neither are the characters associated with said scenes. Oftentimes these storylines have extra characters who don’t have much going for them in the first place, and thus these moments feel cumbersome and unnecessary to watch.
Summing Up: Agent Elvis

Agent Elvis is definitely entertaining, with some dull moments here and there. The animation and background score are stellar, and most of the characters and situations are crazy enough for you to be absolutely hooked on the show.
Agent Elvis is streaming on Netflix.
