One can always count on BTS ARMYs to leave no stone unturned when it comes to hyping their beloved artists, so it was but obvious that they’d lose all their calm when the Love Wins MV news broke out. Post 12 AM KST on January 16, 2024, IU shared a story on her Instagram profile, sparking the fire around the possibility of Kim Taehyung aka BTS V starring in her upcoming music video. Before one could even say the song’s title, BTS fans took over X (formerly Twitter) and started trending “Actor Taehyung is Coming”.
Although Taehyung is yet to make his much-awaited big acting comeback in a K-drama or a movie following his role in the Korean historical drama series Hwarang, he’ll soon be making a return to the same line of action on a smaller scale as the male lead in IU’s music video of her upcoming pre-release single Love Wins, directed by Um Tae-hwa.
Ironically, the last time V openly expressed his desire to make a comeback as an actor was when he was invited as a guest star on IU’s talk show, IU’s Palette, and now it’s in her forthcoming video that he’ll be seen gracing the role of a protagonist. The main poster of the video revealed so far hints at the two singers’ character lives being intertwined in a romantic twist.
In addition to the IU and Taehyung music video premiering on YouTube on January 24, 2024, at 6 PM KST or 4 AM ET, the BTS member has bagged another opportunity to flaunt his acting chops. Kim Taehyung will also be seen leading the advertisements of Compose Coffee, which has in turn resulted in BTS ARMYs catching on to the video’s punchline “V is a Composer” and trending it on the social media platform as well. These two developments have caught the fans’ eyes despite the Layover singer himself being away from the entertainment scene to complete his mandatory military duties at the moment.
