Aakhri Sach Episode 3 Recap

In Episode 3, Aman is still in Teetari and discovers that Jayant and Anshika were engaged as kids. However, their wedding was called off when the Rajawat family moved to Delhi. So Aman’s doubts about Jayant being the family’s killer proved wrong. Anya finds out that the Mahipal gang didn’t kill the family either. The goons threatened Aadesh a year ago because he refused to return their money. Once the money was given back, they had not seen him for at least a year.

Anya and her colleague decide to check the house again. They find several clues pointing at the number 11 – pipes, doors, windows, house number, and 11 years after Jawhar Rajawat’s death in 2018. The cops believe that the case might have a superstitious angle and go through Anshika and Aman’s engagement videos again. They spot Chamatkari Baba and believe he might be the cause of the family’s mysterious death.

Still from the show

The cops chase the missing Chamatkari Baba. After capturing him, the Baba tells Anya that Bhuvan had come to him 5 years ago. He used to have weird dreams about his father. Bhuvan believed that after Daulat attacked him, his father set Daulat’s shop on fire. He started doing Shanti for his father every day in the house. When Bhuvan’s mother told him to stop, Bhuvan started talking again, but in Jawhar’s voice.

Aakhri Sach Episode 3 Review: Discussion

Aakhri Sach Episode 3 is titled “Shadows of the Past: Vahem,” so one expects the makers to delve into the Rajawat family’s past. We find out about Anshika’s first engagement and the Chamatkari Baba. However, it’s not enough to make the series watchable. So much time is wasted in Aman’s side story, the chase for Chamatkari Baba and flashbacks from Anya’s past. The fictionalisation of a real case by putting more light on Anya’s life does not make it any more engaging.

Aakhri Sach Episode 3 Review 2
Abhishek Banerjee as Bhuvan Rajawat

The Delhi cops have pressure from their seniors to solve the case, or it will be transferred to the CBI. But even after 3 episodes, the cops have nothing concrete in their hands. The revelation about Bhuvan’s behaviour happens at the end of episode 3. So, we have to wait another week for the narrative to pick up (hoping it gets better). The drama of Anya and her husband and Aman’s mother telling him he will find a better girl now has not affected the plot. So why include it in an episode that was supposed to be about the “past”?

Final Thoughts

Overall, despite the cops getting suspicious about number 11 and the episode name having the word “past” in it, the series doesn’t offer anything significant. The Chamatkari Baba did hardly anything to save the mess. Like the first two, the new episode is equally shallow, and only in the end do we discover something about the Rajawat family. Sadly, we have to wait another week to get more answers. We can only hope that the focus of the remaining episodes is the Rajawat family, as they’re the only key to solving the case.

The new episode is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
