A Sunday Affair is an upcoming Nigerian romantic drama movie, set to be released on Netflix this week. The screenplay for the movie is written by Darrel Bristow-Bovey (known for his work for Inside Story) along with Mo Abudu & Nnegest Likké and directed by Walter Taylaur. Produced by EbonyLife Media, it will have a runtime of about 1 hour and 36 minutes.
It is about a three-way affair where two women fall in love with the same man, yet they are unaware of the fact. It ensues in a dramatic love triangle where it’s difficult to choose one person over another.
A Sunday Affair Cast
The cast of the film includes acclaimed Nigerian actor Nse Ikpe-Etim who plays Uche, Dakore Egbuson-Akande as Toyin, Oris Erhuero as Sunday, Alexx Ekubo (Weekend Getaway), Uzor Osimpkpa (Fifty), Chris Iheuwa (Rattlesnake) and Hilda Dokubo (Accidental Affair).
A Sunday Affair Plot/Synopsis
The official synopsis of the film reads, “Lifelong best friends Uche and Toyin fall for the same complicated man, which tests their loyalty to each other as they face a heartbreaking revelation.”
The trailer starts off with Uche and Toyin getting together at a wedding, where Uche and Sunday are seen to be getting to know each other and even more than that. Soon after, we see Sunday and Toyin meeting each other on a train and sparks seem to fly among them as well. While both the best friends share their love stories with each other, they are oblivious to the fact that they both are talking about the same person.
But it isn’t a typical love triangle but a tragic one when Toyin gets to know that she has cancer. Now Sunday can’t be that boyfriend who breaks up with a person because of their sickness. Soon after, Sunday and Uche are seen confronting each other but for the sake of their sick friend, they decide to not reveal what has been going on.
While the trailer ends with Sunday confessing that he is in love with both of them, while he has to act like Toyin’s boyfriend in front of Uche, whom he also likes. It leaves him in a difficult situation and we will find out whom he ends up choosing in the end and if Toyin ever finds out that she is in a three-way relationship with her own best friend.
