Imagine a Zombie apocalypse happens, and we lose our loved ones. It will be devastating, right? But what if I say you get to kill them with a bunch of guns and have fun? Yep, it happens in the movie world, and I’m talking about dark comedies. If you’re a fan of that genre, this list of the best dark comedies on Netflix is a game changer. Many movies with dark humour can either offend us, make us laugh, or leave us baffled. At the end of the day, its purpose is to kill time, not the vibe. Let’s get ahead and check out the best dark comedy movies to enjoy watching.

8 Dark Comedies on Netflix

The Dictator

Starting with The Dictator, something about this movie keeps the air so uncomfortable yet hilarious. Starring, Sacha Baron Cohen, the movie is about an arrogant dictator of Wadiya and his love for dictatorship. When the world wishes to bring democracy into the Republic of Wadiya, the dictator tries to remove it. However, that’s when the huge chaos starts. Obviously, when he was a dictator, Wadiya wasn’t at its best, but why would the same people once again want the nasty guy back?

Don’t Look Up

Don’t Look Up was one of the top hits in 2021 (time flies so fast!) So the movie is basically about two astronomers who predict the destruction of the world due to a comet crash. When they try their best to warn the world, nobody bothers them. The ending is the best part of the movie, truly. Also, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence and Timothee Chalemet did a great job in it.

Super Deluxe

Super Deluxe is one of the most underrated dark comedies of all time. It features three people’s life stories: an unloyal wife, a transwoman and an angry pal. All three have a connection, and the ending will baffle you. The movie stars Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha Ruth, Fahad Fazil and a more notable cast.

Bigbug

The Dystopian movie is about an AI-run world where every household has at least one AI robot present to help them in their daily lives. One day when a hazardous situation comes in, the robots lock the humans to protect them. But little do they understand that it makes everything worse than before. Bigbug will make much sense about why AI isn’t that important or intelligent.

Zombieland Doubletap

Zombieland‘s sequel really came out with a banger. Starring the same cast, the movie follows the four Zombie slashers’ life. But this time, we see the main protagonists breaking up because the youngest (Emma stone’s sister) decides to travel with a hippie guy she falls in love with. Moreover, Zombies are no more lanky and dumb rather they’re upgraded. Will the crew survive? Watch the flick on Netflix.

Year One

This movie is not for you if you’re a Christian who gets easily offended. That said, Year One, starring Jack Black and Michael Cera, will leave you questioning the Bible. The movie is set in the old testament era, and apparently, the protagonists are a part of it too. From slavery to betrayals, so much goes on in this movie, but the amount of dark comedy is bliss to watch.

An Action Hero

Being a celebrity isn’t easy because they’re always prone to gossip and rumours. Speaking of that, the movie is about a famous action star who gets entangled in a murder accusation that forces him to flee the country. Will the action hero seek out his thrilling movie-like life? Stream An Action Hero and witness Ayushmann Khurrana’s excellent acting.

White Noise

College professor Jack Gladney seems to be leading a happy life with his family, but one day, when a chemical leak causes tragic airborne toxicity, he is forced to leave the region. The plot is sad, indeed, but will the movie be? Definitely not, and that’s why White Noise is one of the best dark comedies to watch.
