The much-awaited 2024 MAMA Awards Day 1 in Japan Winners List finally arrived, marking the opening of day 2 of this year’s three-day music gala as it unfolded at Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, on November 22, 2024. Having covered the first chapter in the United States, the light thereon was necessarily shifted to Japan for an unforgettable night of remarkable performances and honours, with Asian and International artists being represented here as well. Organized by CJ ENM, the event was simulcast worldwide on Mnet bringing fans together with artists for a spectacular musical and cultural galore.
The festivities began with the red carpet, hosted by Lee Hye-sung and Hanhae, where the biggest names in the industry graced the event. The opening speeches by Karina, Sung Han-bin, Yoshi, and Rei set the tone for a night filled with spectacular performances and heartwarming award presentations.
The performances at the 2024 MAMA Awards first Day showcased a diverse array of themes and genres, leaving the audience spellbound. The night began with a powerful act by TXT’s Yeonjun, who performed his solo track Ggum. With the theme “What Is Real?”, his performance set an introspective and artistic tone for the evening.
A surprise highlight of the evening was Izna, an upcoming group set to debut next week. Performing tracks from their first album, including Drip, Fake It, and Timebomb, their act, themed “Who Dat Girl?”, offered a tantalizing glimpse into their potential as future stars. Ive, with their electrifying performances of Accendio and Heya, embodied the theme “Guardians of the Sun,” bringing warmth and energy to the stage.
Fans were then treated to a vibrant showcase by ME:I, who performed their hits & ME and Click under the theme “Me + I = MIRAI.” Their futuristic concept blended stunning visuals with seamless choreography, making it a memorable act. Meanwhile, BoyNextDoor charmed the audience with their rendition of Nice Guy and Earth, Wind & Fire, delivering a heartfelt and energetic performance that highlighted their versatility.
Toward the end of the night, Tomorrow X Together delivered a captivating performance with tracks Deja Vu and Over The Moon, tied together by the theme of “Savior.” The show reached its zenith when Rosé and Bruno Mars performed their viral hit Apt. under the theme “Random Game!”, showcasing a unique fusion of global talent and energy.
