As the festive season has approached, Japan’s iconic year-end music program-the 75th Kōhaku Uta Gassen-has unveiled its star-studded lineup, increasing the excitement for the much-awaited musical extravaganza of the year. It features both polished regulars and newcomers, and the 2024 Kōhaku Uta Gassen Lineup holds much promise as a special night to remember, what with the spotlight on the Korean acts taking the stage this year.

Returning for a third outing is LE SSERAFIM of the Red Team, famous for their bold performances and anthems of empowerment. Two newcomers are TXT from the White Team and ILLIT from the Red Team for Kōhaku Uta Gassen 2024.

2024 Kōhaku Uta Gassen Lineup
Other than the Korean Artists, the lineup of 75th Kōhaku Uta Gassen is an all-star mix of legendary Japanese artists and emerging talent. Some of the legendary performers of the Red Team include MISIA, Sayuri Ishikawa, and Ringo Sheena. This list also includes huge groups like Nogizaka46 and Sakurazaka46. The White Team promises big names like Masaharu Fukuyama, Fujii Kaze, and GLAY, but also fresh acts like Omoinotake and BE:FIRST. The lineup also includes eight debut acts: TXT, ILLIT, Number_i, and tuki., among others. Tradition meets new beginnings for this year’s show.
Where to Watch Kōhaku Uta Gassen 2024
The 75th Kōhaku Uta Gassen will be held on December 31, 2024, at NHK Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo. The broadcast will take place from 7:20 PM till 11:45 PM JST, making it a great source for ushering the clock towards New Year.
As has been the case every year, this event further divides its performers into two teams-the Red Team (female acts) and the White Team (male acts)-for a friendly competition judged by the audience and celebrity panellists.
