Spring Movies can be classified into various categories like the ones where you get to see a lot of shots in nature or among the flower fields, or the classic romantic ones that make the whole world look beautiful, or the ones which motivate you to have a new start in life and helps to overcome all your struggles. Therefore, we have curated some movies that might overstep the boundaries of each category & leave you feeling a lot of things, as per your perspective.
10 Best Spring Movies to Watch
Notting Hill
This is one of the feel-good romantic comedies that you can watch again and again & feel the same emotions every time. When talking about spring movies, a classic romance between a Hollywood star and a regular bookkeeper has to make the list. Starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, this film makes you believe that nothing is impossible & in contemporary times, we can definitely use that optimism. It is available to watch on Netflix.
Tuck Everlasting
Tuck Everlasting will take you back to nature & discover the healing beauty which is realised by Winnie Foster (Alexis Bledel) when she runs away from her strict house. Roaming around the woods, she meets the Tucks, an unconventional family with a secret that could threaten their lives. Many viewers find the ending tragic & quite different from the book it is based on, but I think that Winnie’s decision was rather realistic.
Memoirs of a Geisha
This would be the first film where I saw Michelle Yeoh as Mameha, and she left me totally mesmerised. Memoirs of a Geisha is based on the best-selling novel of the same name & follows the story of a little girl, who is sold to a geisha house due to poverty but gradually becomes the Geisha, with the help of Mameha. From the music to the beautiful cinematography, this film is a sight to behold with an emotionally filled story.
One of the most memorable scenes is when Chiyo learns how her one gaze can stop a person & leave absolutely enchanted by her. It is available to watch on Netflix.
The Garden of Words
The use of ambient sounds like the rain, winds rustling & even walking makes it a soothing movie to watch. It is an unusual story about a high school student named Takao, who skips school to sketch shoe designs in a garden. However, every time it rains, he coincidentally meets a mysterious woman, Yukino. Without even interacting as much, they both find each other’s company comforting and for a moment, take away their loneliness.
What makes it a good watch is how the film shows that you have to fight for what you want in life. You should follow your heart’s desire and not get disheartened by failures but realise that pain is also a part of life. Also directed by Makoto Shinkai, I don’t think you need any other reason to not watch the film, available on Netflix.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dubara
This film is what happens when the group trip plans finally manifest themselves in reality, out of the group chat. At first, everything looks great & everyone has all the plans to do various things but as the people come together in real life, they realise they have changed a lot in the past years. No plan goes as one has decided but you meet new people, eat good food, maybe even fight but get much clarity about your life. This film is your sign to book yourself a trip before it gets too hot to even go anywhere.
It is available to watch on Netflix.

Not Another Teen Movie
Watching young Chris Evans on screen does feel like spring & makes us happy, but keeping that aside, this is one of the movies that tickle all the funny bones. What most people get wrong about it is that they think it’s a cliche rom-com but actually it’s a parody of those movies – exaggerating things for the laughs. The film is full of moments that often catch us off-guard and leave us ROFL. It is available to watch on Netflix.
Clueless
With the Y2K fashion being all the rage again, looking back at this film we can certainly take some notes on fashion that is still trendy. It shows the story of the most popular girl in school, Cher. But what makes her different is that she is not the typical mean girl who only wants to harm the people she does not like, for no particular reason. It has some similar parts to Not Another Teen Movie, but very different nuances.
She is the embodiment of many teen girls who are clueless about what to do in their lives but Cher shows how she can do what she puts her mind to & teaches to stand up for herself. Watch this film on Netflix.
Little Forest
We all have once thought of leaving out city lives behind and starting a new peaceful life in the countryside. While not everyone can do that and we vicariously live our fantasies through cottage core Youtube videos, in this film, a young woman returns to her rural childhood home, and with it, a life of farming and homemade meals. But with the passing of seasons, she finds that not all the answers can be found in the countryside.
Little Forest aptly shows how the season changes & as the winter snow melts down & spring blooms upon us Hye-won, so do her priorities in life. Based on a manga series of the same name by Daisuke Igarashi, this South Korean movie features Kim Tae-ri, Ryu Jun-yeol, Moon So-ri, Jin Ki-joo and many others. You can watch this film on Viki.
Jab We Met (When We Met)
Once in our lifetime, we all have aspired to be as carefree as Geet and definitely related to her persona when knocked down by the harsh reality of life. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in the lead, the story follows how two strangers meet on a train & have a strong impact on each other’s lives.
The best part about the film is that it will never leave you feeling bored at any point. From the shenanigans to crazy adventures, it has everything that will make you feel a part of their adrenaline-filled journey. Watch it on Amazon Prime Video.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
When talking about modern rom-com, then this film definitely makes the list. Just like Lara Jean, springtime is when many people start their new year in school & college – and she is the best example that shows that branching out or making new friends won’t be such a bad idea. Although her case goes a little extreme when the love letters for every boy she’s ever loved (five in all) are mysteriously mailed out.
I am not saying you should write letters too but maybe gather a bit of courage and ask your crush out or the person you would like to be friends with. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is available to watch on Netflix.
