Itaewon Class

Itaewon Class is a 2020 Korean drama about a group of young people trying to build their future and prove themselves to society. These youngsters are usually looked down upon by society but they have hope and dreams and wish to do something big in life. Lee Joon-young plays an important character called Ma Hyun-hi who is a transgender person. The drama also stars Park Seo-joon, Kim Da-mi, Kwon Na-ra, Ahn Bo-hyun and Yoo Jae-myung.

The Killer’s Shopping List

The Killer’s Shopping List is a 2022 Comedy Thriller that surrounds a serial killer who shops for the same items from the same mart. During the investigation, one of the characters is revealed to be transgender. Park Ji-bin plays the role of the transgender character who not only helps in the investigation but also comes out to everyone in the end. The drama also stars Lee Kwang-soo, Kim Seol-hyun and Ji Hee-kyung in leading roles.

Love With Flaws

Love With Flaws is a 2019 Romantic Comedy drama that portrays an openly gay character and his love story along with the main leads. Late Cha In-ha plays the role of Joo Won-suk, brother to the main female lead. His love story in the drama is as engaging as the love story of the main leads. The drama has other cast members like Ahn Jae-hyun, Oh Yeon-seo, Kim Seul-gi and Gu Won.

Reply 1997 is a 2012 Korean slice-of-life drama which is the first instalment in the popular Reply Series. The story revolves around a group of friends who meet at a reunion and reminisce about their high school days. One of the characters reveals his unsuccessful crush on one of the guys in their group. Kang Joon-hee played by Lee Ho-won used to have a crush on his best friend Yoon Yoon-je played by Seo In-guk. The drama also features Jung Eun-ji, Shin So-yul, Eun Ji-won, Lee Si-un and Sung Dong-il in leading roles.

Hometown Cha Cha Cha

Hometown Cha Cha Cha is a 2021 Korean Romantic Comedy that focuses on the love story of a woman from a city and a man from a seaside village. As it is set in a village, the drama also tells us stories of the residents of the village with a majority of prominent female characters. Yeo Hwa-jeong is a restaurant owner who is also a divorcee and mother to a child. She meets her old friend, Yu Cho-hui, a newly joined teacher who had a crush on Hwa-jeong back in the days and still does. Hwa-jeong acknowledges her feeling but doesn’t reciprocate.
