Elsewhere, CEO Ms Go begins to suspect David Lee, the head of Kaltz Hotel. Sung-woo informs her that David has abruptly quit and that he only learned of it during a recent flight. The timing raises Go’s suspicions about the new plant they are building in partnership with Kaltz Hotel. Sensing something amiss, she starts to dig deeper.

At home, Han-gu, ever the schemer, tells Ms Go that David has swindled their funds through fraud. The shock of his revelation triggers a mild heart attack in her. Instead of helping, Han-gu cruelly gives her the wrong medication, revealing his true colours in a chilling confession.

He admits that he had been behind the embezzlement all along, using J Consultancy as his front to drain company money. Ms Go realises, too late, that the man she trusted has betrayed her completely. She collapses, and though she is rushed to the hospital, she slips into a coma. Han-gu, showing no remorse, takes satisfaction in knowing that with her incapacitated, his plans can proceed without obstruction.

Meanwhile, Sang-hyun and Jin-gyeong grow closer as they both struggle with their personal and professional burdens. By coincidence, they end up at the same bar one evening, each seeking solace from their troubled thoughts. They share drinks and speak openly for the first time. Jin-gyeong comforts him, reminding him that he deserves better than the way Sung-woo treats him. Her words bring a rare smile to Sang-hyun’s face, and the two reconcile, forming a quiet bond built on mutual understanding and respect.

Soon after, chaos erupts at Myungsoondang when news breaks that the company’s funds have been lost through a fake contract. The revelation sends shareholders into a frenzy. Seizing the moment, Han-gu hatches another deceitful plan. He invites Jessica to pose as Sylvia, a well-known American investor, to manipulate the board and gain control of company shares.

Woo-joo, sensing something strange about this new investor, grows suspicious. When he visits Me-ri, he shows her a picture of Sylvia. To his shock, Me-ri recognises her as Jessica, a woman she had seen before. She even shows Woo-joo an old photo of Jessica with her younger sister, So-ri. To confirm her suspicions, Me-ri calls So-ri and sends her the picture. So-ri immediately identifies the man beside Jessica as her husband and confirms that the woman’s real name is Jessica, not Sylvia.

Sure enough, the following day, Jessica arrives at the company disguised as Sylvia, and Han-gu pretends not to know her. He begins to negotiate the sale of a large number of Myungsoondang shares to her.

Alarmed, Woo-joo decides to join forces with his cousin Eung-soo, who already suspects his father’s involvement in criminal activities. Together, they begin gathering evidence against Han-gu. Eung-soo plays a clever trick by pretending to talk to his mother about their grandmother waking from her coma. The news sends Han-gu into a panic. In desperation, he orders Jessica to go to the hospital and kill Ms Go before she regains consciousness.

Jessica, however, fails. The police intervene just in time, and she is arrested for attempted murder.
