Varun Dhawan is busy with the promotions of his comedy family drama, JugJugg Jeeyo. Directed by Raaj Mehta, the film also stars Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Kohli. The trailer and songs are creating a lot of buzz for the film. After a long time, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has produced a full-on family entertainer that promises a lot of laughter and emotional drama.
During an interaction with the media, Varun was asked what attracted him to a family drama like JugJugg Jeeyo. The actor said, “‘ve grown up on films like Hum Saath Saath Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. I’ve loved these films while growing up. So obviously, when I became an actor, these films kind of attracted me. But the premise should be new. We can’t do the same thing.”
The actor added, “So when I got this subject of a boy wanting to divorce his wife and his wife wanting to leave him, he’s come home to tell his father. But when my character tells his father about divorce, his father tells him that he wants to divorce his mother. Only I know this information. Kiara doesn’t know, my sister doesn’t know. There’s a sister’s wedding happening, the father is introducing my character to his girlfriend who happens to be a childhood teacher. So it’s just a great situation to create comedy and situational comedy.”

Varun Dhawan’s JugJugg Jeeyo Trailer
Varun is quite excited about the film as it’s his theatrical release after 2 years. He was last seen on the big screen in Street Dancer 3D (2020) along with Shraddha Kapoor. When asked what his expectations are, Dhawan stated, “I want to see a packed auditorium and people enjoying the film. The money coming in is not coming to me at all. No, I mean, I bought some stake in this film because I have a percentage. But that is not the criteria. The criteria of this film is people enjoy and just have a good time.”
