Unseen Ending Explained

Zenzi’s husband, Maxwell, has been released from prison but has not made it home yet. In search of him, Zen makes her way to Raymond Hendricks, her boss, who had been taking care of her while Maxwell was in prison. When she gets there, people are clamouring, and things have gotten out of hand for the kind of work they have been doing. In Raymond’s butcher shop, Zen cleans the office and finds that the safe is left open. She steals a gun from there and confronts Jackson Thom, who was also working with Raymond before things went sideways with them.

When she meets Jackson, she is surprised by how forthcoming he is about her husband’s debt. Jackson clarifies that until Max doesn’t pays him back, everything he owns, including his wife, will be his. This leads him to make a sexual advance towards her, and she becomes rattled, pulling out the gun in defence. He laughs at her amateur effort at using the gun as a scare, but she does not disappoint and shoots him square in the chest. He falls, clutching his heart, while Zen reconciles with her decision.

Back at the shop, Raymond receives news that Jackson Thom is dead. They both work in the same gang under a common boss, Blessing Jali, who does not take kindly to his employees killing each other. In a scramble to find out who killed him and with what weapon, he comes across Zen, who is bringing the gun back to the shop. Instead of keeping it back in the safe, though, she keeps it with her as insurance to ensure no one hurts her.

Raymond keeps her safe against the cops who have come to start some questioning in the shop. She slips past, but not before a sinister idea percolates in her boss’s mind. He sends a lackey after her to return the gun so they can protect themselves. However, when Zen realises she is being followed, she jumps on the train tracks to lose him. The stalker doesn’t give up and quickly catches up to her. They have a scuffle, and he tries to hurt her, but a sudden incoming train slams into him when she pushes him back.

This is the second person she killed, and the count keeps increasing. Now, when she makes her way home, she doesn’t realise that she has been caught on camera. The gun is now sacred to her. She will not be giving it up for anybody. Raymond realises that she can be an asset to all of them, so he asks her to kill Blessing for him. He would become too suspicious if multiple people started dropping dead suddenly.

Apart from this hellfest, Zen also has to go back to her rented home, where the landlord makes advances at her, and this time, he says he would sell the house if she didn’t make it worth his while. She went to meet him at an abandoned building to convince him not to sell the house, but he took this meeting as an opportunity to assault her, and she pushed him away. The building has not been fully constructed yet, so he falls off the edge and knocks his head against the concrete on the ground.

Three down, more to come. Zen takes up Raymond’s offer to kill Blessing to ensure she can keep herself afloat. All she has to do is put the powder that seems like cocaine next to him, and he won’t be able to resist. However, external factors and a change in plans force Zen to take it upon herself and finish the job by blocking his nose and holding a hand over his mouth. The police officers are determined to catch the killer, and Zen tells them that they should have put the same effort into finding her son’s killer.

Joseph, Raymond’s second in command, takes Zen out of town. He is tasked with killing her and bringing that infamous gun back. Joseph suddenly grew a conscience and shared that Max had been a part of the gang and had taken the fall for Blessing when he had killed a gang member. When she asked him about her son’s killer, he bargained that he would tell her if she gave the gun back. This doesn’t go too well and ends in a scuffle that kills Joseph.

The only players left in this game are Raymond and the members above Blessing, who have been running the show. As the show concludes, we find out that Blessing killed the gang member because he was about to expose their crimes and the corruption that happened in collusion with the banks. Max knew about it, so he was imprisoned to quiet it all down. However, Max tells Zen that he will expose their crimes, and all they need is the flash drive.

After all the effort, they do get the flash drive, but Raymond takes it when he and the police officers descend together on them like a plague. Seeing no way out, Max surrenders but is killed by a round of fire. Zen is taken to police custody, but one of the officers bails her out and takes her to the outskirts, trying to kill her, but she barely escapes and kills another person while she’s at it. She finds out from one of the officers that Raymond’s gun killed her son.

She goes to confront him at the club, and the big showdown between them leads her to set the whole place on fire while his hands are tied and unable to move. Instead of killing him with the gun, she leaves him there to die in the fire. Seeing no purpose in life anymore, she makes her way to the roof to jump, but her sister and the police officers come in and try to assuage her, but instead, she jumps anyways.
