Episode 10 begins with the audience knowing that Hee-do’s toe bruise is getting better. We see her looking back at the picturesque moment with Yi-jin when he confessed his love for her and, confiding in her journal how empowered she feels by his love. On the other hand, Yi-jin is looking at a recording of Hee-do and Yu-rim and, how both girls would want to do regular school things like going on a trip when he is interrupted by his co-worker who asks if Yi-jin has apologized to Mr Park for lashing out in the previous episode.
Taking the cue, Yi-jin goes ahead and apologizes which Mr Park accepts graciously in front of everyone but, privately insults Yi-jin for his low education qualification. Later during a dinner night with his colleagues, Yi-jin discovers how there is a discussion going on that the company will no longer be accepting high school graduates, making Yi-jin probably the last one to secure a good job profile with his high school graduate education. A drunk Yi-jin reflects on if he is working hard enough and, in case, he isn’t there are going to be repercussions as he is simply a high school graduate.
On returning home, Yi-Jin is startled with a phone call from his father and, they both talk about the hardships in life, with Yi-Jin’s father ending the scene on an emotional note of how proud he is of his son.
In the next scene, the fatherly vibe continues as Yu-rim is greeted by her father gifting her a CD player. Initially, though the temperament of the scene seems sweet and loving, we later find out what upset Yu-rim receiving the gift. An upset Yu-rim calls for Ji-woong and confesses to him that the gift was thoughtless because she does not own a CD, in the first place. With Ji-woong trying to lighten up the situation and find meaning in the gift, Yu-rim further confesses that her family’s in debt and the gifts she receives are her parent’s way of showing things are fine when in reality they aren’t.
Yu-rim explains how she too gives her parents the appropriate reaction of being overjoyed on receiving the gifts when she actually isn’t, which prompts Ji-woong to say how adult she is because Ji-woong’s mother only gets tears from him. The endearing conversation lasts a little longer as the duo walk on the streets when Ji-woong finally makes his first move and asks Yu-rim out, which she accepts.
On the way, the duo crosses the path with Seung-wan who is on her way to head up to school in preparation for her CSATs, which by the way are still 100 days away! Yu-rim, Ji-woong and Seung-wan visit the school when they discover boys stealing away the seat cushions from class. This gives rise to a hilarious chase scene that ends with the three retrieving back the students’ properties rightfully.
The next day at school, Ji-woong is seen distributing away the pillows in exchange for snacks when he is caught by the professor and, humiliated. Ji-woong even gets beaten until Seung-wan turns up and, saves him from the atrocity. Taken aback by the incident, Seung-wan goes home and talks about how negatively corporal punishments affect students on her DJ Wanseung radio show. This broadcast is heard by Yi-Hyun, who is moved by the reality of the situation.
Coming full circle to why Yi-jin was watching the video about the Hee-do and Yu-rim wanting to go on a school trip, we see our reporter approach the coach to take out our elite fencing candidates to the beach to film a documentary. Even though the coach can’t go, she gives Yi-jin a yes. However, Seung-wan and Ji-woong also want to tag along on this trip too which the former hatches a plan.
On approaching Yi-jin initially Seung-wan faces a stern no. But, over the next few days, she serves her house guest with a five-course Korean meal until, she creates a habit in Yi-jin and, then stops. A little banter lets Seung-wan join the trip with Ji-woong and, the group is elated to have their adventure!
The group lands at Yi-jin’s house where Yi-jin’s mother is excited to see Yu-rim. She does look happy on seeing Hee-do but, of course, it is Yu-rim she prefers. This is also when Yi-Hyun finally meets Seung-wan and, immediately connects the dots that is her on the radio show he tunes into. Yi-Hyun reveals his internet name as he fanboys over Seung-wan before the group heads for the beach.
At the beach, Yi-jin records the group having fun and, joins them too for a while. Later, he shares a romantic moment with Hee-do, as they both sit side by side and enjoy the sound of the seagulls and waves crashing.
Returning from the beach, the group gets to work. The girls take over the arena of cooking rice and, fail miserably while Ji-woong does no job perfectly when it comes to cooking the meat. After their meal, the group calls their respective parents to inform them of their safe arrival when Ji-woong’s mother lashes out at him on the speakerphone.
Post this incident, the dynamics of the group gets deeper as Ji-woong, Hee-do and Yu-rim talk about their respective family situations to which Seung-wan is quiet. But, when Yi-jin asks her about her life, she reveals that she does not have a rather interesting life like others which puts her behind the realistic circumstances everyone is facing.
The episode ends with the five characters sitting by the beach and enjoying as the moment will last forever. In the present day, an older version of Hee-do cannot seem to remember their moment from the beach when inquired by her daughter about the same.
