Tom Holland made his MCU debut as Spider-Man in the 2016 film, Captain America: Civil War. Just like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, Tom received lots of love and appreciation from fans. Many even say that he’s the best Spidey in the Marvel universe so far. Everyone is looking forward to his next release, Spider-Man: No Way Home.
When people praise Tom as Spider-Man, they often talk about his acting, action scenes, charm and good looking. But the actor recently revealed that a driver once hinted that he’s ugly to play the role during his audition. In fact, the driver told him that another actor he had dropped before was too good-looking. So Tom might get selected for the role.
On The Graham Norton Show, Tom Holland made these startling revelations. He narrated the entire scenario, “When I was going for my last audition, I was driving there — I was very nervous. I had this driver — lovely guy, but a little bit too honest. He’s sort of sitting there in the car, and he’s chatting to me, chatting to me, chatting to me.” Tom added that he’s a polite person. But the driver was talking a lot, so at one point, he wanted to say, ‘shut up, I’m trying to learn my lines’.

When the actor was rehearsing the lines, he noticed that his audition driver was looking at him through the rearview mirror. The actor reveals, “He’s looking at me, he goes, ‘You know what kid? I think you’re gonna get it.” When an excited Tom asked why he believes so, the driver responded, “And he goes, ‘You know what? I think you’re going to get it because the kid that I just drove there? He is so good-looking.”

After getting cast as Spider-Man, aka Peter Parker in the MCU, Tom came across the driver. The actor shares his reaction, “And he goes, ‘I told you’. I was like, ‘What did you tell me? That I was gonna get the part or that I was ugly?'” Zendaya and Henry Cavill, who joined Tom for the talk show, had a good laugh.
