The Worst Bollywood Movies of 2020 That Dulled Our Brains!

2020 has been one hell of a year. With the world coming to a standstill, it was a difficult time for the entertainment industry. From shooting to releases, everything was stalled, considering theatres closed for the foreseeable future. However, OTT platforms were the biggest winners in the pandemic. So, here’s a list of the worst Bollywood movies of 2020 from Bollywood which failed to impress viewers. We wanted good movies to take us out of our pandemic blues, but instead, we got these!

I remember watching Laxmii, a memory that no one can remove from my mind. After around 20 minutes, I just didn’t know what was happening. I didn’t know whether the Raghava Lawrence-directed movie, based on Kanchana, was trying to be a comedy or a horror. Don’t worry, it stunk at both – it just made me want to cry. At the end of it, nothing made sense and it was truly one of the worst Bollywood movies of 2020. Sitting at home in the middle of a pandemic, I wanted to throw hands. Thank god going out of the house wasn’t an option.

Love Aaj Kal

Trying to juggle the love and hurdles of modern-day couples, Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal, based on his own 2009 movie by the same name, was unwatchable and one of the biggest Bollywood flops of 2020. The movie consisted of a plotline and performances which were unnecessarily dramatic. Especially Sara Ali Khan – I don’t know what was going on with her here. Everyone overreacted to everything and it was stressful and exhausting after a while.

Coolie No 1

I don’t think the Bollywood industry takes its audiences to be smart people. This movie was such an absolute mess that it made for a painful viewing experience and was clearly one of the winners in the worst Bollywood movies of 2020 list. I mean, the blatant stereotyping and sexism wouldn’t even make you angry – it’s just too mind-numbingly stupid for that.

Mrs Serial Killer

Starting off a fresh new year, I had high hopes for this one, especially because it starred the very proficient Manoj Bajpayee. But alas, this movie did nothing to warrant even one watch, leave a second and easily became one of the worst Bollywood movies of 2020 on day 1 itself! Resting mostly on Jacqueline Fernandez’s shoulders, she does a very bad job at the Mrs part of the movie title. Add to that a meandering plot and you have a movie that has no thrill or suspense to it.

Kaali Khuhi

Kaali Khuhi dealt with some very heavy subject matter and won praises for bringing them forward. Unfortunately for it, the movie’s execution and character development were so bad that it was confusing for anyone to understand what the actual hell was going on. It’s difficult to enjoy a movie when you don’t know who the characters are or why they are doing what they are doing. And that is exactly what happened to this horror flick. A good idea wasted!
