Today, Netflix dropped The Tinder Swindler trailer, an upcoming documentary film. Directed by Felicity Morris, it is cited as ‘true crime documentaries’ where women share their online dating experience gone wrong. Several women swiped right on Simon Leviev in the trailer to find out the man didn’t exist.
In The Tinder Swindler trailer, we learn that these women met a man called himself Simon. He made the women feel special, made them open up emotionally and eventually borrowed lots of cash. Turns out he was a conman. In the documentary, we will see some women he conned coming together for payback.
The trailer features some threatening messages and voice notes the man has left these women who tried to seek answers. But the ones who want payback are in the mood to swindle the Tinder Swindler. The trailer synopsis reads, “From the team producers of Don’t F**ck With Cats, modern love is a dangerous game in the world of online dating, and not all that glitters is gold. Notoriously known as The Tinder Swindler, he has seduced and swindled young women for millions and is a fugitive from justice in several countries. One swipe could change your life. This is the ultimate fairytale gone nightmare. Follow three women who decided it was time for payback.”
Netflix describes the documentary film to be provocative and investigative. It would be interesting to see how the women get hold of the conman together. The story reminds us of the Bollywood film Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl starring Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh. In the film, Ranveer had conned several women by winning their hearts. They all come together and hire con girl Anushka for payback. However, the film wasn’t about online dating. Also, it was a love story where the conman and con girl fall in love.
