The Christmas comedy franchise ‘The Santa Clause,’ which was a commercial and critical triumph when the original film was released in 1994, will be renewed as a limited series on Disney Plus, starring Tim Allen as Scott Calvin. Scott, who is approaching his 65th birthday in the series, realises he won’t be Santa for much longer. He’s starting to fall behind in his Santa duties, and, more significantly, he has a family that may benefit from a normal life, particularly his two children who have grown up on the North Pole.
With a lot of elves, children, and family to please, Scott sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the pole. This will be the fourth time that Allen, who has quite a following for his characters in the sitcoms ‘Home Improvement’ and ‘Last Man Standing’, takes up the role of Calvin/Santa. He first starred in ‘The Santa Clause’ in 1994, which was followed by two sequels in 2002 and 2006.
Disney+ confirmed the same in their latest post. They wrote, “It’s clause for celebration! 🎅🏻 Tim Allen will reprise his role as Scott Calvin from “The Santa Clause” in a new Original limited series coming soon to #DisneyPlus.”.
