Margot is still trying to negotiate with the NSA for full immunity in exchange for valuable information about the group of vigilantes. As Allie follows a group of poachers, he discovers that Charlie has also secretly joined the journey with him. They both carry on with the mission and reach a disclosed location. Dina and Adolfo are spending a nice quiet time in a nearby town. They join in various activities and start to grow closer to each other. Back on the island, Margot goes to Richard’s cabin unannounced and goes through his items to collect evidence. Allie and Charlie share various thoughts and opinions on the way.

Allie finally makes Charlie open up to him about the incident on the island. He explains how dangerous it is to carry a gun and that no matter what, one should not opt for violence. Richard finds Margot in his cabin, who is waiting for him to return and questions him about the passport that he keeps with him. After much convincing, Richard agrees to let Margot participate in the plan, but he is still suspicious of her.

Meanwhile, Dina tries to escape by stealing Adolfo’s car, but he reaches in time to stop her. She convinces him to help her to run away from the island and her family, and he agrees. Charlie finds the handwritten letter left behind by Dina, and the episode ends on that note.

The Mosquito Coast Season 2 Episode 8 Review

The show is finally making progress, and the audience will be delighted. Though the episode’s pace was slow, many events that are relevant to the plot unfolded. The storytelling process was done gradually, and we got to see a degree of development of the characters.

But some of the views and thoughts shared in the episode feel extremely contradictory. The creators failed to convey the message they had been trying to deliver through the show. Honestly, at times, it feels like watching a show on child abuse where the parents care more about their principals rather than their children’s well-being and desires.

Nevertheless, the production, cinematography and background score is flawless. Justin Theroux delivered yet another phenomenal performance.
