The episode picks up from where the last ended, with Allie and William getting trapped in the venue where they went to stop the renovation project on their island. They were caught as they were trying to find an escape route. But they manage to walk free when the technician lies about not recognising them.

Meanwhile, back on the island, Margot follows Richard into the woods to find where he is headed. She witnesses him carrying a package back to the camp obtained from a group of militia. On the other hand, Dina shares the truth about their mother with Charlie, and he does not take it well. He blames it all on Richard and suggests that he was the one who forced her to commit a crime.

Charlie points a gun at Richard, threatening him to stay away from his family. Scared, Richard begs him to spare his life, but Charlie reveals that he is carrying an empty barrel. Allie finally arrives on the island and suggests to Margot that they have to leave the island since it is growing unsafe for the family. But they quickly get into an argument because Margot wants her children to have a normal life in the U.S., and Allie disagrees.

Richard grows more cautious of Charlie when he finds the skinned head of a goat buried at the entrance of his hut. The episode ends with people in the closed community festively sharing a grand meal.

The Mosquito Coast Season 2 Episode 6 Review

The start of the episode was promising as it gave us suspense and kept the viewers looking for answers, but it quickly went downhill after the first five minutes. There was not any new revelation or any interesting subplot. The story was dragged around on a loop where the characters ended up having the same conversations repeatedly. The lack of character growth and story is the most disappointing.

The best thing about the episode was the cinematography and the beautiful locations. It will transport the viewers to a deep and secluded village on a Mexican island. The actors were committed to their characters and delivered an adequate performance.
