The Morning Show Season 2 Episode 2 Review: Teases Big Drama

The Morning Show Season 2 Episode 2 titled ‘It’s Like The Flu’ is now out on Apple TV+. The 54-minute episode stars Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Janina Gavankar, Tom Irwin, and Marcia Gay Harden. The new star cast includes Greta Lee, Ruairi O’Connor, Hasan Minhaj, Cybil Richards, Tara Karsian, Valeria Golino, and Julianna Margulies.

The second episode of The Morning Show Season 2 is written by Torrey Speer & Kristen Layden and directed by Mimi Leder. The synopsis reads – Stars struggle to accept new roles. The TMS crew comes together for an important dinner.

The Morning Show Season 2 Episode 2 Review Contains Mild Spoilers

In the second episode, Cory, Stella and the network is preparing to welcome Alex Levy back. Alex is excited and yet nervous as she has to work with Bradley again. On the other hand, Bradley is furious with the network’s behaviour towards her. The network wants to fire her, but Cory doesn’t want to let her go. Bradley is under the impression that the network cannot fire her as she exposed Fred Micklen.

The Morning Show 2 Episode 2 also discusses the initial phase of coronavirus cases in January 2020. The first case gets reported in the US, but people think it is just like the flu. With all the other sensational news going around, the network decides to give only one-minute coverage to the novel coronavirus news.

There are some gripping dialogues and scenes between Alex-Bradley in today’s episode and some awkwardness between Stella-Alex. The episode also gives us glimpses of what Mitch has been doing in his life now. They have no big surprise packed for us, but those 54 minutes manage to hold your attention till the end. All the time, I couldn’t help but feel bad for these people who are making these big plans. They have no clue how the coronavirus will severely impact their life.

The episode gives me a flashback of my early 2020 life when I was unaware of how March would change everything. The w writers pique our interest to know how Alex and Bradley will carry TMS despite their differences. It also hints at how Alex’s return will affect the lives of other employees who also aspire to grow. 

The Morning Show Season 2 Episode 2 Review: Final Thoughts

Overall, today’s episode gives us the thrills while alluding to something significant in future episodes. You get an idea that Alex’s return will cause a lot of drama, and we are here to witness it.
