The Mean One is an upcoming slasher horror movie that retells the much-loved Christmas classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It is a parody/alternative take on the heartwarming events of the holiday, turned into the worst kind of nightmare. The film is directed by Steven LaMorte and written by Flip G and Fin Kobler, while Krystle Martin stars in the titular role.
The complete cast of the film includes David Howard Thornton as the Mean one, Chase Mullins as officer Burke, John Bigham as Doc, Erik Baker, Flip Kobler, and Amy Schumacher. Moreover, Christopher Sheffield serves as the cinematographer and Mathew Roscoe as the editor.
The trailer of the parody film starts with Grinch breaking into little Cindy’s home, to recreate the classic moment of Christmas. However, this time, instead of the presents, the Grinch turns into a monster, who kills Cindy’s mom, and leaves the little girl with the nightmare of her life.
The story then jumps years ahead (like every parody should) and introduces us to a grown-up Cindy, who hasn’t recovered from the vile events of that particular night. Moreover, the town of Newville is still haunted by the Grinch, who has made its life purpose to destroy each and every resident of the hopeful place.
Furthermore, the soft and timid Cindy decides to eliminate the tag of a victim and initiates a fight back against the evil Grinch. What follows next, are a series of training montages and action templates, and a lethal encounter with the monster of Christmas.
Notably, the music of the movie is given by Yael Benamour and produced under the banner of Sleight of Hand Productions, Amy Rose Productions, and Kali Pictures. Whereas the project is distributed by Atlas Film Distribution. The film is also a fourth take on the most popular Christmas Character, which is based on the book by Dr Seuss.
