The Matrix Resurrections Final Trailer: Revisit The Past With Keanu Reeves’ Neo

The Matrix Resurrections final trailer has arrived weeks before the film’s release. The fourth film in The Matrix film franchise, produced, co-written and directed by Lana Wachowski, the film picks up after the events of The Matrix Revolutions in 2003, almost two decades later, to show us the ultimate fate of Keanu Reeves’ Neo. Even though a fourth film was constantly denied, with Revolutions marking the end of the Matrix film trilogy, the news and scheduled release of Resurrections finally gives fans an ultimate closure to Neo’s story.

The Matrix Resurrections has Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Jada Pinkett Smith reprise in their roles from previous films. They are going to be joined by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Christina Ricci, who play characters both old and new. The second and final trailer of the film gives us more insight into what the upcoming film is going to cover, mostly hinting towards scenes that are reminiscent of the previous Matrix films as if Neo is having flashbacks and remembering this first encounter with the Matrix’s reality.

The Matrix Resurrections Final Trailer: Remember What is Real

The trailer starts with a door being kicked open and inside the room we see a woman’s back, dressed in leather black- almost identical to the first Matrix film when we meet Trinity for the first time. Throughout the trailer, this theme becomes recurring, starting from Johnathan Groff’s dialogue reminding us of Smith to the choosing between pills and the subsequent mirror melting scene.

But along with us, Neo remembers too as he fights The Matrix’s malice to get to Trinity- a character marked dead in Revolutions but turns out not really, as we see her in her hibernation pod in the machine city. The twist, however, The Matrix Resurrections final trailer hints at is, that it is Trinity who serves the purpose of making the ultimate choice here.

The upcoming film comes with a lot of questions starting from how Trinity is alive to if Priyanka Chopra’s Sati is the new Oracle to is Johnathan Groff is a part of Smith’s program that has unbalanced the Matrix’s equation yet again?

All these questions and more will find their answers in The Matrix Resurrections releasing on 22nd December 2021 on HBO Max and in theatres near you.
