The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 16 Review- Plot and Characters
Surprisingly, the answer to the question in the first paragraph is yes. The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 16 was among the best episodes the series has ever had, and the reason for that is very simple. The show went back to the roots for this one and didn’t rely too much upon the later, much less effective tropes that it has established. The series was truly great at the start, and this episode felt just as good as that.
A huge component of this episode being good was the return of Druj, who is by far the best character in the show. The show had been building towards her confrontation with Jingu, the magical girl. For once in quite a while, the show didn’t disappoint, and the interaction was just as funny and characteristic of the two that I imagined. It was a great start to the episode, and Jahy played her part to perfection.
Saurva, who has been criminally neglected for the entire series, also makes a reappearance in the series and is up to her regular shenanigans. While, for some reason, Jingu just has to be in every one of Jahy’s scenes, and it is starting to get a little bit over the top, the bit with Saurva still worked like a charm. A little goofiness can never go wrong in a show that is based around it, and I appreciate some skits that don’t provide much in the way of plot progression but are still worth a watch.
As the title states, the Dark Lord was in a lot of The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 16, but she was somewhat less annoying this time around. Her existence is still pointless, and she remains the biggest missed opportunity of the show so far. At least she didn’t make me want to strangle her in this episode. The episode failed spectacularly to make her a sympathetic and heartfelt character, but it could never have succeeded. Her existence puts the writers into a corner that they don’t know how to write themselves out of. That’s how bad of a character she is.
The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 16 Review- Art and Music
I used to talk about this show’s voice acting a lot in my earlier reviews, but as time went on, I got too used to hearing it, and it didn’t seem that special anymore. Jahy sama episode 16 proved that the series still has some of the best-respected and most talented voice actors in the industry, from big names such as Kana Hanazawa and Ai Kayano to relatively smaller names like Yui Ogura, and everyone does a tremendous job in the series.
The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated Episode 16 was fun to watch and was free of most of the series’ current problems. Want to take a break and enjoy something fun and sweet? Check this out.
