The Girl From Oslo Season 2: Has Netflix Renewed the Show?

The Girl From Oslo that released on Netflix on December 19, 2021, gained a lot of popularity. Viewers have been binge-watching the gripping and twisted Hebrew-Norwegian bilingual political thriller. Originally titled Bortført, Kyrre Holm Johannessen and Ronit Weiss-Berkowitz created the series directed by Uri Barbash and Stian Kristiansen.

The series stars Anneke von der Lippe, Amos Tamam, Raida Adon, Andrea Berntzen, Shadi Mar’i and several others. For season 1, the makers released 10 episodes of 30-35 minutes each. The synopsis of the Norwegian thriller reads, “When her daughter is abducted, a Norwegian diplomat travels to the Middle East, banking on old friends — and a deep secret — to help free her.”

In The Girl From Oslo series, Pia gets kidnapped by ISIS as she heads for a trip with her friends to Egypt. The terrorists make a shocking demand for the girl’s release. Pia hails from Jerusalem, Israel, and the hefty demand messages reach her mother, Alex. Alex (Anneke von der Lippe) reaches out to some of her friends to find her daughter’s whereabouts. The entire series focuses on the terrorists’ demands, Pia’s kidnapping and her loved ones’ struggles to find her.

I won’t give away spoilers from the Netflix show. But people who have watched it wonder if they will get The Girl From Oslo Season 2. The first season left them intrigued, and many binge-watched it in the first go. Well, the makers and Netflix have not yet commented on another season. Considering the first season somewhat gave the answers everyone was looking out for, chances are there won’t be a season 2.

  1. Absolutely please do give us season two. How can you leave us hanging otherwise? You know it’s very popular everybody loves it and can’t get enough of it so please do not stop now. Keep it coming. Please let us know that you intend to give us season two

  2. Yes we need a season 2. This is an excellent series where those involved, regardless of their motives, keep getting themselves and others into difficulty by their actions. Quite realistic.

  3. ¡NO!…. don’t make a season two!
I think that it is difficult to reproduce the excellent effect that this well done series had on the viewers. One characteristic of excellent movie making is to leave the end open to the interpretation of each individual. I wouldn’t like to see a “Hollywood ending” where everything ends perfectly and everybody is happy. Life IS NOT like that.

  4. Omg you have to make a season 2. All the good acting and the not knowing. I love this show I hope you do a season 2 and don’t take forever to bring it out. A fan.

  5. Yes please have a season 2!! I love this movie and hope there will be another season of The girl from Oslo! Not many movies like this one. Loved it.

  6. I binge watched this over three nights. It was totally engrossing and it actually made me lose sleep after the final episode. If you watch it be prepared to want to swat the protagonist Alex across the face. Her selfish and cavalier actions ruin a number of lives and get numerous people killed. I know people like her! Otherwise a totally great show.

    • You’re exactly correct! I binged watched it to 2 am! I could not stop watching! Totally addictive! Excellent show! I agree – that Alex is a piece of work to say the least!

  7. Absolutely season two!! It still has a little bit of a cliffhanger and a teaser as to what could be. They left it off to where everything was resolved but they were still the Hint of something more to come. It looks like whatever is dangling could be big and they can definitely play off of it. Has my imagination running and would love to see it further. I’ve binged watched all 10 episodes yesterday!

  8. I don’t see how The Girl From Oslo can have a season 2, but there could be sequel series centering on Arik, the Israeli politician being blackmailed by Bashir.

  9. Of course there should be a season 2; Navad and Pia are now entwined in each others lives, Ali Karim needs his come-uppance snd the Hamas still have Arik in their blackmail sites, etc etc

  10. Please, a season 2 is a must. What happens to Arik after the telephone call at the end. He’s looking at his family with tears in his eyes after it appeared that an ending had occurred.

  11. If they don’t do a season 2, they need to do a second chapter or a spinoff. There are so many unanswered questions. Do it for me – I had a 5 hour panic attack watching this. I need answers! What happens to Arik? Bashir? Layla?
