The Crown Season 5: Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana Leaves Fans Stunned

Seems like Elizabeth Debicki is already summoning her inner Princess Diana for ‘The Crown’ season 5. The show which traces the reign of Queen Elizabeth II introduced the character of the iconic Princess Diana in the last season which was played by Emma Corrin. Emma was applauded for doing justice to the role of the Princess of Wales by fans and critics alike.

This season the torch is passed on to Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki, who we might remember from the 2013 film ‘The Great Gatsby’ and have recently seen in Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet.’ The actress was recently spotted flaunting what can only be called Princess Diana’s ‘Revenge Dress’ look at the set of ‘The Crown.’

The ‘revenge dress’ was widely noted as provocative as it was a revealing off-the-shoulder dress, which acted like a riposte after Princess Diana’s husband Prince Charles confessed to infeditily. Diana was seen wearing the dress to attend the 1994 Vanity Fair dinner at the Serpentine Gallery in London. An identical look left by Elizabeth Debicki has created a roar online.

Other photos from the set of ‘The Crown’ season 5 shows Elizabeth Debicki recreating every Princess Diana look with a flair like no other. In fact, it might as well be stated that casting Debicki in the role of the late Princess is by far the best casting decision made for ‘The Crown.’

The fifth season of ‘The Crown’ will start airing on Netflix by early November 2022. The cast is going to include Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Jonny Lee Miller as Prime Minister John Major, Dominic West as Prince Charles alongside Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana.

You can now watch all the previous seasons of ‘The Crown’ on Netflix.
