The Batman Producer Aims to Beat Christopher Nolan’s Trilogy

Matt Reeves had recently unveiled a new trailer for The Batman titled ‘The Bat and the Cat’. The trailer was focused on Zoe Kravitz’s femme fatale-esque Selena Kyle aka The Catwoman and her chemistry with Robert Pattinson’s Batman. We also get an insight into what The Riddler’s endgame is for the citizens of Gotham. While all the focus was on Selena and Bruce, Paul Dano’s Riddler had a very terrifying presence. He even taunted Bruce Wayne, who is supposed to be the world’s greatest detective saying that The Dark Knight really isn’t as smart as he thought.

Along with the brand new trailer Matt Reeves and his co-producer, Dylan Clark had revealed a very interesting tidbit about their version of Gotham’s Caped Crusader and how it compares to Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy which is widely regarded as one of the best superhero movie trilogies of all time.

Clark, who has produced all of Matt Reeves’ movies since The Planet of the Apes films, has said that he had issued a challenge to The Interstellar director told Empire, “I’ve said this to Chris Nolan directly: ‘Look, we’re trying to be the best Batman ever made, and we’re going to try to beat you’.”

THE BATMAN – The Bat and The Cat Trailer

It will be very interesting how Matt Reeves’ noir version of the Caped Crusader which is inspired by The Long Halloween stacks up against Christopher Nolan’s all-action Dark Knight. While recent DC movies have been box office failures, Batman films are usually successful since they have a wider audience. The Dark Knight Rises earned more than a billion back in 2012 while Zack Snyder’s Batman Vs Superman earned 873 million in 2016.

The Batman releases worldwide on March 4th, 2022, featuring an ensemble cast of Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Andy Serkis, Paul Dano Colin Farrell, and Jeffrey Wright.
