Sweet Tooth Season 2 Trailer Breakdown: Extinction, Jailbreak and the Fight For Survival

Sweet Tooth Season 2 Trailer has been finally released after creating much anticipation with its short teaser, previously. The post-apocalyptic fantasy drama series is based on the DC comic book series of the same name by Jeff Lemire. Developed by Jim Mickle, the show follows a boy named Gus, who is a half-deer and half-human hybrid.

Produced by Warner Bros, it is executive produced by Jim Mickle, Susan Downey, Robert Downey Jr., Amanda Burrell, and Linda Moran. The cast of the series includes Christian Convery as Gus in the lead role, Adeel Akhtar as Dr Singh, Stefania LaVie Owen as Bear, Dania Ramirez as Aimee Eden, Aliza Vellani as Rani Singh, Naledi Murray as Wendy, Neil Sandilands as General Abbot, Marlon Williams as Johnny Abbot, Christopher Sean Cooper Jr. as Teddy, and Yonas Kibreab as Finn and James Brolin as the voice of the narrator.

In the last season, we saw that Gus finds an abandoned plane and uses its radio believing that he is talking to the Preserve, he inadvertently gives his location to the Last Men army. All the kids along with Dr Aditya Singh and Rani are then captured by General Abbot and his Last Men army, while Aimee rescues Big Man & Bear gets contacted by Birdie, who is hiding in an Arctic area with her research.

Sweet Tooth Season 2 Trailer Breakdown

The trailer starts off with Birdie aka Gertrude, working at the Fort Smith Labs. We see how she cared for the hybrid babies and in the background, she says that ‘I’ll find you’ were the last three words that she said before life, the end of the world and everything else came in between. We will get to know more about her role in the events leading up to the Great Crumble. While General Abbot is seen standing in front of Gus, who is lying on the ground with a terrified expression.

Further General Abbot is seen telling the people in the preserve that they are at war. They are fighting their own extinction and were on the losing end until they found the cure by doing experiments on the kids. In captivity, Dr Singh is forced to create the cure for the General, which requires an ‘unconventional ingredient’ & we see Gus’s antlers being grabbed by the General.

While the kids are planning to escape from the place they are held captive & it looks nothing less than a jail. They fear losing their own lives, one of these days, if they continued to do experiments to find the cure for the Sick. On the other hand, Tommy Jepperd and Aimee Eden seem to team up to break the hybrids free and finish off the Last Men before they wreak any more havoc.

Gus is being called the only hope for the world, while the numerous attempts to escape seem like futile attempts, as the General is heard saying that no matter where or how fast they run away, no place will be safe. On the screen, Gus is being dragged by his captors. The trailer ends with a quick montage of fire, fights and physical conflict among the characters, who are looking for survival and to save the ones they care for.

Sweet Tooth Season 2 is scheduled to be released on 27th April 2023 on Netflix.
