Strong Girl Nam-soon Episode 9 Recap and Review: The famous hit South Korean drama Strong Woman Do Bong-soon (힘쎈여자 도봉순) spin-off series Strong Girl Nam-soon (힘쎈여자 강남순) of the is directed by Kim Jung-Sik and written by Baek Mi-Kyeong. Starring Lee Yoo-mi, Kim Jung-eun, Kim Hae-sook, Ong Seong-wu and Byeon Woo-seok in the lead roles, the series will follow a young girl named Nam-soon and her immense strength being used for the good. The series is produced by JTBC and is distributed by Netflix.
The series takes up the story of Bong-soon’s sixth cousin, Kang Nam-soon (Lee Yoo-mi) who has similar strength to her cousin. After getting lost in Magnolia, Nam-soon returns to South Korea to find her family. She successfully finds her mother (Kim Jung-eun) and grandmother (Kim Hae-sook) but little does she know, the trio are in for a big treat.
Lee Yoo-mi made it big after her pivotal role in Squid Game (2021). She was last seen in All of Us Are Dead (2022). Kim Jung-eun’s last ventures are Missing: The Other Side (2020-2023) and DNA Mate (since 2022). Kim Hae-sook’s latest work was Revenant (2023). Speaking of Ong Seong-wu, he was last seen in the movie Starlight Falls (2023) while Byeon Woo-seok’s latest project was Soulmate (2023).

Strong Girl Nam-soon Episode 9 Recap
Nam-soon gives the desktop to Hee-sik and at the same time, Geum-ju learns about her father’s arrival in Korea. Joong-gan who is clueless about this happily spends time with Jun-hee. Nam-in takes another pill and starts hallucinating. Shi-o reminisces his past while punching the bag where we learn that he is one among the orphans who were trained by the Russian mafia called Pavel.
The next day, Geum-ju visits Hwa-ja at the hospital after learning about the incident and tells her that if she can live an honest life, she’d be her daughter too. This statement makes Hwa-ja feel guilty. At the office, Shi-o stabs his bodyguard’s leg for not catching the culprit who stole his computer. When he learns that the culprit is Tsegseg/Nam-soon’s height, he finds her suspicious.
In Shi-o’s computer, the police find two small children’s photos and no other evidence regarding his company’s fraudulent activities. After learning about this, Nam-soon tries to suck up to her peer to learn details regarding the international parties. Nam-in starts drinking bottles of water and rejects eating food. Shi-o visits Hwa-ja and asks whether Tsegtseg is the real Nam-soon since she tried to stab her. To the viewer’s surprise, Hwa-ja lies that Tsegtseg isn’t Nam-soon, and the reason why she tried to stab her was because she talked down to her. Shi-o buys it and leaves.
The following day, Shi-o takes Tsegtseg/Nam-soon to the Heritage Club for a meeting with Geum-ju. Geum-ju brings Hee-sik disguised as Jamie Choi. When Geum-ju talks to Shi-o, Hee-sik manages to plant a device in one of the important meeting halls. During the conversation, Geum-ju triggers Shi-o by mentioning Pavel. Nam-soon cuts the conversation and yells at Geum-ju, pretending to side with Shi-o. The meeting ends and Shi-o tells Tsegtseg/Nam-soon that he wants to kill Geum-ju.
The same day, Joong-gan receives her Brave Citizen award but quickly her day gets spoiled after learning about her husband’s arrival. At home, Nam-soon quarrels with Geum-ju stating that Shi-o is too dangerous and that she shouldn’t talk so carelessly. Joong-gan decides to pick up her husband from the airport when he arrives. The next day, Geum-ju visits Song Bread and shows him the photo of Shi-o in Russia where he is also captured. This irritates him and he banishes her from the office.
At the same time, Shi-o calls someone and tells them that he needs to kill someone. Hee-sik’s superior Dong-suk doesn’t pick up his call and it seems to has become immersed in his drug. We see Bong-jo finding Nam-in collapsed on the bathroom floor due to his drug’s effects. Shi-o calls Tsegtseg/Nam-soon to his office and asks her whether she can kill Geum-ju. After seeing her startled face he tells her that there is no need to do so because she is already dead. The screen is cut and we see Geum-ju lying bloodily inside her car that’s met with an accident.
Strong Girl Nam-soon Episode 9 Review
Shi-o has a sad story that will prove that he turned vile due to some heartbreaking events which we’re yet to learn. Though it doesn’t justify his actions it still shows his character development. Nam-in is in trouble which will make Nam-soon panic as she will ensure to quickly find a way out to save her younger brother. Now that Geum-ju has met with an accident, she won’t be able to track down Shi-o (she isn’t dead though) and it will put more pressure on Nam-soon and Hee-sik.
Hwa-ja lied to Shi-o but does that mean she has changed? Maybe or maybe not. We will soon learn about her pivotal role in this series in the upcoming episodes. Jun-hee and Joong-gan’s relationship will be halted for the time being as her husband has returned with plans to stay beside her. Additionally, Shi-o will fall for Nam-soon and start making his moves, pissing Hee-sik. What will Nam-soon do when a love triangle forms around her? All the answers shall be soon given as the episodes flow.
