Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 12 Recap

The battle between the Ant King and Goto Ryuji was nothing short of brutal. Ryuji, one of the most powerful hunters, believed he had what it took to defeat the monstrous creature. But before he even had the chance to fully assess his opponent’s abilities, the Ant King struck with ruthless efficiency. In a shocking turn of events, Ryuji was unable to mount a proper defense, and the Ant King killed him almost instantly.
Now, with Ryuji out of the way, the Ant King became even more confident and prepared to eliminate the remaining hunters. Just as things seemed hopeless, Jinwoo arrived at the scene, ready to face the formidable enemy. Unlike Ryuji, Jinwoo was no ordinary hunter.

As their fight progressed, Jinwoo began analyzing the Ant King’s movements and attack patterns, looking for weaknesses he could exploit. Little by little, he adapted to the situation, gaining the upper hand. What started as a challenging battle quickly became one-sided as Jinwoo figured out how to counter the Ant King’s immense strength.
Not only did he manage to save the S-rank hunters who had been rendered helpless against the Ant King, but he also single-handedly defeated both the king and his army. What makes this feat even more remarkable is that he accomplished it all on his own, without relying on anyone else for assistance.

Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 13 Review and Recap

Today’s episode was hands down one of the best, as the studio did not leave any stone unturned to make the finale one of the finest ever. The episode begins with Jinwoo flat-out telling the cameraman to stop recording or else he will break his camera. This is because he plans to revive the soul of Byunggyu so that he can save Haein. This plan actually works, and Haein gets saved. But Yoonho also requests that Jinwoo let Byunggyu’s soul go.
He was a kind man who did not like to fight, and he came to this raid only because he wanted to save his friends. Thus, even Jinwoo decides to release his contract with Byunggyu’s soul of his own volition.

Then Jinwoo clears the path for the S-ranked hunters to leave the island safely, and he himself stays behind to face the other ants. Here, he finally reaches level 100 and summons the soul of the ant king. The ant king becomes Jinwoo’s first shadow soldier who can actually speak. This is how Beru comes into existence.
However, things are not as simple. Now that Jinwoo has shown just how powerful he is, other threats are coming his way. In the new season, we will see Jinwoo fighting not only monsters but also hunters who do not like his rapid growth.
Verdict

I absolutely loved today’s episode and think this was the best way the season could have ended. The animation studio spared no effort in their production, which was especially evident in the final montage where each soul appeared one by one, emphasizing the sheer power of Jinwoo.
