The episode opens with Jinwoo finally obtaining something he had long desired, which is the elixir of life, a powerful item that holds the potential to heal his mother. In addition, he manages to resurrect the dragon that once belonged to Baran, naming it Kaisel and adding it to his army of shadow creatures. Later on, Jinwoo utilizes one of the items in his possession to teleport back to his original world.

Meanwhile, at the Hunter Association, the chairman strategizes a plan to eliminate the ant queen. Elsewhere, two S-rank hunters, Yoonho and Byunggu, share a drink while reflecting on life. Byunggu’s decision to retire early from hunting, despite the immense wealth he could have amassed, seems puzzling. However, it is revealed that a traumatic experience during his previous visit to Jeju Island led to his unexpected departure from the profession.

As the episode progresses, Jinwoo successfully revives his mother, marking an emotional turning point. For the first time, he sheds tears, proving his humanity in a deeply moving moment. This heartfelt reunion with his family becomes the episode’s highlight, even surpassing its depiction in the original webtoon. Seeing Jinwoo’s genuine smile as he embraces his loved ones adds warmth to the scene.

Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 10 Review and Recap

Today’s episode very much prepared us for the upcoming Jeju Island arc that is going to blow us all away. At first, we see the hunters from the Japanese side facing off against the hunters from the South Korean side.  What starts as a friendly match soon becomes serious when Haein injures a Japanese hunter by mistake. Before anything could happen, Jinwoo comes to her rescue, and Goto Ryuji realizes the immense power that Jinwoo has. He then asks him to have a dual with him, and Jinwoo agrees only if Ryuji uses his full powers.

After that, we see an intense battle between them, and many things become clear here. Jinwoo is definitely stronger than Ryuji, but he is also not an easy opponent. He is the first person who has managed to land a scratch on Jinwoo’s face. This segment was intense and also animated very nicely. Throughout their face-off, one thing becomes clear; this is not the last time that we will see Ryuji fighting against Jinwoo.

On the other hand, we also see the ant queen preparing for the birth of the biggest ant. He is going to be the ant king, the ultimate antagonist of this season whom Jinwoo will have to fight. He will be Jinwoo’s strongest opponent yet, but we all know that no opponent is more powerful than our hero, and he will once again win.

Verdict

Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 10 Review: Still

I like today’s episode, and the anticipation for the Jeju Island arc feels adequate. But at the same time, I must mention that Jinwoo being stronger than everyone else is kind of becoming repetitive. It is also very apparent that the ant king that we will see in the next episode will be a menace to everyone else, apart from Jinwoo.

Jinwoo should be able to kill him and make him his soldier without any issues.
