Single’s Inferno Season 4 Review
Netflix is back with the fourth season of Single’s Inferno and the season is filled with some very attractive people who have seen some sort of fame before this show. It somehow takes away from the experience of watching unknown people wanting to meet someone on a dating show and turns the Korean reality series into a space to get followers and fame. Regardless, the series has always been something that showcases emotions more than awkward sexual moments and thankfully it continues to hold on to that this time around as well.
I have said it before and I will say it again, the best part of the show has always been its MCs and, in season 4, the heartfelt and hilarious conversations between the panellists are some of the best moments of the show. They are insightful and witty, with great chemistry with one another. Although the original four were fantastic from the start, I think season 2 heartthrob Dex’s inclusion has only added to the appeal of the panellists and made the series more entertaining.

This season, things are shaken up just a bit, with women and men separated in different places on the island at first. The two factions have their own challenges and Paradise visits at first, with their own challenges. We don’t see these first few challenges, which is a shame because I really enjoy watching the competitive moments between the contestants because it brings out another side of them. However, I am sure with 12 episodes to watch, there will be many moments.
The conversations between the contestants, especially in Paradise, are quite fun. Some people shine more than others, which is to be expected. However, I am hoping that we don’t see a Lee Gwan-hee repeat this season with one participant getting the bulk of the attention. The flirting is on point this season as well, and most people are quite open and direct with their feelings and comments but keep a safe and respectable distance. It’s easier to digest and accept by the audience because, let’s be honest, no one behaves in the way it’s shown in American reality shows.

That being said, we get to see a ton of couples in Paradise in these 4 episodes, which is always fun. Although viewers might find it a bit repetitive sometimes, I think it has its fun moments wherein you get to see the personalities of the different people more clearly. I think the MC’s comments help further because they really do break down the different people’s behaviours and add some interesting insights.
The dynamic between the contestants is probably the most interesting thing about the series and season 4 continues to be entertaining in that aspect. The series focuses on all the different contestants this time and it’s not an awkward fight among the men or women to get someone. However, I do wish they changed the Paradise and Inferno locations a bit because the hotel doesn’t really cut it and somehow the worst thing about Inferno feels like having to make your own food. Otherwise, it’s quite romantic in a rugged way. Hopefully, they do something unique in the next few episodes.
Final Thoughts

Single’s Inferno 4 starts off with four interesting episodes. It continues to not be an uncomfortable watch with some fantastic MCs who have great chemistry with one another. With 8 more episodes to go, one can only hope that there’s more drama to unfold. Until then, the four episodes only tease us to wait with bated breath for what comes next.
