Shark Tank India Season 2 episode 2 premiered on Sony LIV and Sony Entertainment Television on January 3, 2023. Payel Seth is the show’s creative director, while it’s been produced by Studio NEXT, with Ravikesh Vatsa as its writer. The show is now hosted by renowned comedian Rahul Dua, and is joined by six sharks, namely, Anupam Mittal Founder-CEO of Shaadi.com – People Group; Aman Gupta, Co-Founder-CMO of boAt; Namita Thapar, Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals; Vineeta Singh, Co-Founder-CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics; Peyush Bansal, Founder-CEO of Lenskart.com and Amit Jain, Co-Founder-CEO of CarDekho Group and InsuranceDekho.com.

The second episode lured in a truckload of reactions similar to yesterday’s trail of tweets. Fans just can’t seem to let alone the missing Ashneer Grover train, with the addition of yet another backlash that seems to have added on to the list of things that are tiring out Shark Tank India’s viewers.
Like many other reality TV show, the entrepreneur series had picked up a good budget for production with the success of the first season. However with Grover’s exit, the audience was already apprehensive of the results, having branded him as the “face of the show”. The latest outing of the series has also picked up on common motifs featured in other reality tracks like Indian Idol, wherein a video introducing the contestant’s backstory is played out, further digging into the melodramatic aspect.
India’s rendition of Shark Tank had kept up with the essence of pacing through a seamless trajectory of pitches, but now, with the addition of these new “artificial” tactics, the fans can’t help but see it all as a set up with “fake characters”. Some twitter users even compared this manipulation to the elements of “daily soap”, others can’t ignore the fact that something feels missing.

Despite a sea of negative comments, a few affirmations for the show also rose up as the audience picked Anupam Mittal and Peyush Bansal as the saviours of the new season. Vineeta Singh’s readiness to invest in almost everything also brought back some smiles, as some great pitches and good causes made it to the small screen.
