The success of Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is undeniable. Critics have even noted it as the best Marvel original film so far. However, no matter what good substance the film has given us, the shadow of controversy has taken a toll on it too.
In the present scenario, it seems that the film will not be released in China due to the resurfacing of some comments by star Simu Liu from 2017.

The Shang Chi Controversy
Viewers are talking and interpreting the Asian representation in the film. Many Reddit users have come in front and raised their voices about how the film does not really represent all Asians and should stop preaching so. People are saying how Shang Chi is about the East Asian community and more specifically about Chinese Americans.

However, not everyone agrees with the rising statement. The debate has begun as people have started to take Marvel’s side in this controversy and have stated how complaining is not the solution as Marvel might not have had any culture representation before this at all.
This further aggravated the debate in films misrepresenting cultures or not representing them at all. Viewers have taken over the internet to spew hate on one another and it is hard to make sense of what is the consolidated point of the argument except a few fans.
Shang Chi and the Legends of The Ten Rings is out in theatres now, so it is in people’s personal opinion to go and catch the movie.
