As we saw, after being rescued in Madrid, Cardona tries to remember what happened to him and Bárbara while they were kidnapped. Millán investigates the Norwegians, while he is being suspected by the police department of his ties to the drug cartels. As Cardona recalls more about the terrifying rituals he endured while held hostage, Millán investigates one of Santo’s men who was operating in Spain.
We also get to know about our leads’ past, which made them indulge and chase after the unseen criminal. During his time in Brazil, Cardona first learned of Santo when he discovered the dismembered body of a child, who was the nephew of Cardona’s lover, Vera. It made him interested in becoming an undercover cop working inside Santo’s operations to catch him eventually.

While working in one of the drug fields, he met Barbara Azevedo, the invisible criminal’s mistress. She and Cardona fell for each other but they were soon found out and the entire farm was burned down. During a mission sometime after this, the Brazilian police attacked Santo’s gang and unaware of Cardona’s real identity, they tried to kill him too.
The undercover officer somehow managed to escape and confronted his superiors about the sudden attack, but he was instead asked to stop his undercover activities as his cover was blown. However, when Vera is also killed by Santo’s men, Cardona goes back to take Barbara away to protect her and flies from Brazil to Spain.
However, Santo’s gang catches up with them there too, as Barbara admits that she herself had let their location be known to them. And they were taken to the place where the ritual of killing the children took place and Cardona was the one to kill all of them, under the influence of the drug that was given to him.

On the other hand, Millán had a traumatic past of his own, which led him to the path of helping criminals and abusing drugs. Two years ago his colleague was shot dead while catching a criminal and he feels guilty about it. To numb his feelings, he started abusing drugs and eventually working with the drug lords by helping them run the business smoothly.
In the end, Barbara is reunited with Cardona and they try to evade police custody while Millán navigates an internal affairs investigation into his past conduct. Meanwhile, 6 more kids are abducted by Santo for the ritual which makes both the police officers join forces and figure out the location of the ritual before they get killed.
All clues lead them to San Miguel and both of them get on their way, along with Susi and her colleague behind them as well. Expecting to finally face the cult leader and the brutal father figure, they are met with a familiar face – Barbara. Yes, she is the real Santo, living under the pretence of the mistress to evade the authorities and roam around freely.

Everything is her creation, the pretence of being the mistress of Santo also allows her to control and dictate her men since she is recognized as the person who is closest to the imaginary Santo. Since nobody has ever actually seen the leader in its glory, it remains an authoritative, enigmatic, and scary figure, controlled by Barbara.
Although, Millán tries to shoot her, Cardona still protects her as she escapes before the police force comes and arrests her. On the other hand, Millán’s daughter is captured by her and Bárbara sends him a video of Lucía at her gunpoint. It seems like she has some unfinished business to complete and Lucia is bait to get Millán to work for her.
Santo is currently streaming on Netflix.
